Actually, the bigger issue is not so much immigration but having a job which justifies being admitted to the USA (I'm assuming that you're not coming in on a spousal visa).
NJ has a State Police and hundreds of town Police Departments. You will have to meet NJ's requirements for qualifying as a police officer. That will probably entail attending the NJ Police Academy for some time, so you will need funds to support yourself while you go through it. See the link below for details of the academy. As I see it, this is a circular problem. You need a job to get a visa. You can't get a job until you've been here for some time (if you need to go through the academy). You may be able to get a study visa, but that is usually issued to people who express an intention to return to their country of origin after their course of study. Going to the NJ Police Academy suggests that you will not be doing so.
What I suggest is finding out what it takes to qualify as a NJ police officer. Once you have that knowledge, you can then ask sensible questions of the US Embassy. The London embassy's website is really very good in giving out practical information. They also have a premium rate phone line, which I found very useful when I emigrated five years ago.
This is going to take quite a bit of work on your part. Once you have investigated all the options, you might want to engage an immigration attorney. The one I used is in NJ but I hesitate to give his website in case I get reported for advertising.
Good luck with this. NJ is a lovely state (despite what many people say about it) but be prepared for the cold! That is why my wife and I moved south to North Carolina a couple of years ago, after three years together in the Garden State.

a baby can not by technique of definition smash a regulation that it does not comprehend. once the youngster will become sufficiently old to comprehend the regulation then the youngster has damaged the regulation. the mum and dad have damaged the regulation the entire time. ICE is so less than staffed that they are presently now unlikely after illegals which have not dedicated crimes. if you're charged with a criminal they could do something. In some states even as someone born abroad is arrested and fingerprinted, the prints are despatched to ICE. They then come to a call in the experience that they prefer to placed a detainer on the guy and commence the deportation procedure. The plan is to placed this application in position in each regulation enforcement business enterprise interior the rustic.

You do realize that birds migrate, right? And when they "migrate", it is only for a period of time, and then they "migrate" back to where they belong.
My advice to you is you need to contact INS in the United States and find out what you need to do to "immigrate" to the United States. And then follow the procedure they set forth to you.

Phone the US embassy in Barkley Square in London. They will advice you about their policy and proceedure, but if you want to migrate, you'll need wings ;-)

Find the sites offering jobs, contact the relevant embassy,
and then once you have an interview, go and see them, as
for your family I AM sure they are going to be going with
you, there are always people willing to take on someone
with a good record especially in your line of work..................
I would include the sites that you can go to, but do not
want to break the rules of the answers thing, but do apply
and move if you want to..........................................................
I have friends that have migrated everywhere and are loving
it...............................................................................................
in the same type of occupation as you...................................

Sure come on over . They will need people with the ability to restore law and order soon enough . And since you wont have any loyalty to the American people , they will probably hire you on the spot .
