i think you are referring to a full body scan that is done in the nuclear medicine department with the mri machine

Superman...and he's gorgeous too. I dont think there is a name for a full body x-ray except "a full body x-ray"...and the Dr will think you are paranoid. Buggers me why the Drs dont DO a full body x-ray for everyone every couple of years. It would save a lot of BS...but no...we are stuck in 2007.

It would depend on what they are trying to diagnose, but it could be a MRI, CT scan, PET scan, or maybe a nuclear medicine exam

Thats hard to answer. You can any body part xrayed. There are CAT scans and MRIs that can take pictures of any part of your body. So not one scan in particular always views your whole body.
