I don't need my fiction your fiction or anyone Else's.
The real unconditionally loving God that Jesus told us about is good enough for me.
I am a bit distressed about the fiction organized religion promotes about God being Judgmental and punishing but it does not affect the real God in the least.
Love and blessings Don

It depends on how grave an injustice it is. Though it's sad to say, some things are worth the fight, and some things aren't. A kid asked a question on here about her teacher giving her an after-school detention, and explained why she thought it was unfair. She also explained that it wouldn't be a major deal with her parents. In my answer I advised her to do the detention and try not to upset the teacher again. I did this because, after looking at her explanation of what happened, the fact that her parents wouldn't be upset, and weighing what could and could not be gained by fighting this, the best choice was clearly to suck it up and do the detention. Now, if the problem is repetitive, I might view it differently. I then told her that some things were worth the fight...such as actively opposing the Iraq War. The things I've described above is how I decide whether it's worth the fight or not. If, after carefully considering these things, I feel the potential benefit to me, or someone else, is worth the risk, I proceed with a passion; and, like you, pen and paper and my voice are my weapons of choice. Great question, queen.

You may want to consider that you may be limiting yourself by not believing and deferring the consequences.
First of all, there is overwhelming evidence all around that God exists. For example, have you ever seen an autopsy? It was difficult for me not to believe after I saw the actual organs inside the body and fascinating how these could function together with completely separate functions. How could this have evolved entirely from plankton? How could this human machine of organs be possible without a design or creator?
Secondly, Blaise Pascal was a great mathematician. He waged others that there was a God and that if you believed, you would have the probability of an eternity of happiness. If you waged against God, then there was a probability that you would have an unpleasant afterlife. So given the two options, the Wager for God is a better decision because it is the more logical choice. There is no proof about the Bible, but if you choose for God, then one would believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God. Also, I think a lot of people are in denial. All you have to do is REALLY look around at the complexity and design of life and how can a person not believe in a creator?
Can you prove God does Not exist? I certainly cannot.
Personally, I choose God......

What would you say to someone who thought it was unecessary to eat food and drink water? I follow Jesus not only because He is the Lord, but also because there is no way to truly find life from any other source. It is not limiting; it is freeing. I am no longer stuck with the meaninglessness and misery of trying to please myself and failing. God gives me life when everything and everyone else fails me, and I am looking forward to spending an eternity with the most beautiful One of all; my maker. That is something you cannot make up. You also cannot make up a functioning relationship with someone; but God has blessed me with a relationship with Him through the Holy Spirit. If you ask Him, He can give you the best things anyone can ever experience- not just until you die, but forever. I hope you do.

I absolutely agree with you. In fact I'm against limits of all kinds....air is fiction after all, and in my reality, I choose to breathe mud....gravity is fiction and I choose to fly off of cliffs....truth is fiction and I choose to make up my own reality....
I'm forever recommending these two things, check them out if you're interested..(I'm assuming you would be as you think beyond the surface of things)...the first is the book Mere Christianity by CS Lewis. He was a brilliant athiest professor who over time turned to christianity....this book tells how his mind got from point a to point b in a much deeper way then "well, the bible says so..". My second favorite recommendation is anything by Ravi Zacharias. (rzim.org) . He is utterly brilliant and fascinating and you can listen to anything from his archives for free...he travels around the world speaking to universities etc in defense of christianity. (again, not your typical hell-fire preacher sort...instead he speaks on subjects that I think you would be interested in and mentally challenged by..)

Quite the opposite happens when you come to faith. Everything opens up, is bigger and more beautiful. Anyone can start their own religion, sure, but it's still just some dumb guy with bad grammar. You cannot fathom the mind and imagination of God, but you get a peek if you believe.

First of all, The Bible is not fiction. Second of all there is only one choice- Jesus or self- worship, and I chose Jesus. You will find out one day that Jesus is the way , the truth and the life, I pray it is before it is too late. The fiction, will be reality to you, I pray it is now not later- TODAY IS THE DAY OF SALVATION.

There are lots of stupid people creating false religions to be annihilated quickly with their evil selves.
While the greatest minds dare not show their arrogance before the Messengers of the One True God such as Khrisna, Moses, Zoroaster...Who raise mankind to higher and higher levels of love and knowledge.

following yourself is not very productive.
and where and how did we obtain this infinite imagination?
through adaptation and natural selection? maybe. maybe not.
who decides what is respectful and what is not? George Bush? Kim Song Il?
I choose to follow jesus cause he showed that god is not a evil dictator, but is love incarnate. the pains and struggles that we go through now will not be useless and worthless.

if the cost of my eternal life in heaven means limiting my choices on earth, then i would do it in a heart beat. It is promised by my Lord Jesus Christ that I willl be destined to reside with Him (in heaven) if I believe that He is Lord, and that He died and ressurected for my sins....I dont see it as limiting my life, i'm just being obedient to His word (the bible)
