I'm not sure but I know they changed it or are going to change it. Trans-fats or not...its still fattening. Fattening isn't good either way. As long as you do not eat a bucket of them it shouldn't be a problem. I prefer Chick-fi-la french fries...they are waffle cut (awesome) and are fried in peanut oil. The kick McDonald's french fries butt!

its the same edible oil which we use bu after frying they keep the fries in a dry oven were the oil is soked out and the fries remain crisp even u can do it aftr frying keep the fries on the sieve and blow hot air over it for20 30 min

McDonalds just announced they have developed an new Canola based oil that has no Trans Fats. They said this oil would be used in their units world wide.

They used to use beef tallow (fat), but now, alledgedly, they use vegetable shortening that is flavored to taste like the other so that the taste of the french fries remains the same in all markets.
