Here's an article from this morning...

I hope it's the start to something but I suspect it's just some political lipservice. Kudos to the LA chief trying to do something about the problem but it might be too little, too late. He always will be hamstrung by politics.

Hamstrung by politics, an ultra-liberal city council, and a Hispanic mayor who panders to his constituency.
God bless Chief Bratton. He was great to work for, and he is really trying to do his best.

Two points, yes for those who know something about the current war in Iraq and the current Fatwa the Islamic Jihadists are fighting under they have an obligation to defend their homeland first. That is why the terrorists are not here doing things in the US. When this war is over or we pull out of Iraq, you can bet your bottom dollar we will have problems here. The Jihadists hate us. They hate you, your children and grand children that you don't have. They will not stop until Muslims rule the world. And before anyone spouts off, I am not talking about mainstream Muslims. I am talking about the extremists!!!

As for the gangs and problems in America. Rights! That is why we have problems and will continue to have problems. Criminals have rights and we for some reason are unwilling to change that. When we are willing to give up civil rights for protection, only then will we have less of a problem with crime. I for one am not willing to give up my rights.

What do you want us to do with them, most of them are illegals so we deport them and then in 6 months we deport them again we need to stop illegals and then work on the gang problem. We wont though because those here illegaly have more rights than those of us born here, the voices of the illegals gets heard far more often than those of us who can legally vote, and are actual citizens of this country.

Sigh...My, my. People are not doing enough to stop ultra-violent Latin America gangs for the reason that most governments are busy and we people could do that through the government and now, some of us, people are too scared to do that for the reason of horrible rallies, more people getting butt-kick. Some who tell or some people who are creative; critical thinkers couldn't tell the government. That's why.

I asked the same question and it remains undecided, please vote on the question in the link.

I suspect it is because they effect the lives of the "wrong kind of people". Bush says if we don't win in Iraq, the terrorist will follow the troops home. Fact is, the troops are still in Iraq, but the terrorist are coming through the "broken screen door" we call the Mexican border.
