Yes, they do "represent" god. But nothing more then that...prophets guide us on the concept of god and how to be connected to him. The confusion arises when people think of them having abilities like god.

Prophets are the one's who are sent on earth with a very specail nature and qualities and guide us on religion. Just look at the was they spend their lives....away from everything in mountains. A life full of scarifices but astonshingly still full of joy. There are o many special things about them, which go on to prove that they are god's special one's.

No, False Prophets don't represent God. Besides the original Apostles, the rest are false, or fake representitives of the original, including the church that represents Peter.

Only a Prophet "anointed" by God, is a true Prophet. There are many false prophets.

We do not know, only if the prophesies come true, we acknowledge the genuineness of the prophet. Still we cannot be sure that they really represent a god. We don't know who god is.

The Prophets in Islam, an example dear to us, our beloved Prophet Muhammad, upon whom be peace, was not simply a 'Messenger' who brought a 'Message'. His responsibility and his task went beyond merely conveying the word of Allah to mankind. He was assigned the duty of teaching the Book, the Law, and the Wisdom to people, purifying them making them develop into human beings that the Quran desired them to be.

In many places in the Quran, these duties have been explicitly mentioned. His mission, therefore, was not merely to convey the Quran. He was designated to explain it and provide the guidance for day-to-day situations as the movement he led progressed from one stage to another....this is our teacher of teachers. Adopt what the Messenger gives you and refrain from what he prohibits you [al-Hashr 59:7.] And he had this authority from none other than Allah. Hope this answer your question.

A true prophet is he who either speaks on behalf of God or speak of the future. There are also false prophets who sllf cmaim to be God's messangers but they are not.
A true prophet is not liked by people cause they speak the truth.
