I had several pairs of breeder cockatiels in my dining room- and much to my guests chagrin, yes they do have sex, and no it isn't fast, sneaky or quiet!! They are loud!! The male will stand on the females back, she raises her tail and they rub their "parts" together....the whole time they are chirping like crazy...it is really quite sweet.

Birds do not actually kiss. The touching of bills is called momuricary and it is beleived that the act of momuricary activates the ostorimetical gland located under the right wing of adult birds which inhances the communication process. Mateing of birds is not love making as we know it but an instinct to multiply their numbers. Bird's know neither love or hate.Birds do not get pregnant. They lay eggs that have been fertilized by the male.

Yes, they do it very quickly though. It takes seconds, the male usually lands on the females back after they flirt and kiss for a long time.
