Well in mexico, the couple pretty much get married in church (usually catholic) then the whole town goes to the reception afterwards. People who are close to the bride and groom usually sponser something for the wedding, ie, sponsor for the catering, mariachi or chuch. That is considered their gift to the couple. So the wedding isn't usually such a financial burden as it is here.

i can't tell you much, but i liked the old scottish/welsh version of a bachelor's party. the groom and firendsparty, get drunk, then the groom's men dressed him up as a woman and carted him aorund town in a wheelbarrow. oddly enough this was supposed to ...symbolise fertility somehow. i'm not sure how, but i think it's really funny!!! they also would sometimes have the groom perform outrageous stunts outside the bride's house during the bridal shower, until she came out and released him of that duty wth a kiss. medieval people sure knew how to entertain themselves!!

i beleive that in japan, the bride wears a bunch of different couloured kimonos, and changes them throughout the ceremony. only the first one is white. i guess it not only depends on the culture, but also the couple's religion. marriage id difernt for every religion too.

well we didn't get married per say

we had a bunch of friend and family for a BBQ and said we would love each other forever and we gave each other rings

that was many many yrs ago and we are still happily unmarried

today you don't have to get married to tell someone you love them and want to take care of them
you don't even need to get married to get a house, load, checking account or be on their ins i even took his name

the only thing getting married is good for is spending lots of money doing it and getting out of it
