Try the Hungarian goulash/ stew. Here's the recipe:
GRANDPA'S HUNGARIAN GOULASH
2 1/2 lbs beef stew meat
1 bell pepper (chopped)
2 slices of bacon (chopped coarsely)
1 small onion (chopped)
sweet Hungarian paprika
1/2 cup dry white wine
salt
pepper
beef bouillon cubes, to taste
1 package egg noodles
Brown bacon, remove and set aside, draining all but 1-2 tablespoons. Brown beef in remaining 1-2 tablespoons of bacon fat (olive oil may be substituted), then remove, drain.
Cook onion and bell pepper until soft. Add browned beef. Add wine, salt, pepper, and paprika (about 1/4 teaspoon, or to your taste).
Continue to taste and adjust seasonings throughout the cooking process, (especially paprika). Cover and cook on low or medium, adding water as needed. Stir in 1 beef bouillon cube per cup of water added (more or less, to your taste).
Best if beef is cooked all day, at least 4 hours. When beef is ready, cook egg noodles according to package directions. Remove meat and set aside.
Thicken gravy with flour. Add beef to gravy and serve over egg noodles.
Note: Beef soupbase or beef stock may be used in place of the bouillon, if available.
Hope you like it!

La daube provençale (Meat stew)
Ingredients
For 7/8 persons:
1 Kg( 2 pound) of meat,
1 L of red wine,
3 big spoons of olive oil,
2 bunches of parsley,
1 finely sliced oinon,
2 crushed garlic cloves,
2 cloves,
1 peel of a sour orange,
100 g of salted bacon,
1 marrow bone (optional).
Preparation
Cut the meat (lean beef but not dry) into pieces. Put them to marinate the day before or a few hours before the cooking, in a deep dish, with a good red wine, spices (2 bunches of parsley, thyme, bay leaves), a finely sliced oinon, the peel of an orange, some crushed garlic, some cloves, pepper, salt, and a little bit of nutmeg.
In a pot, put a little bit of lard (or some goose fat), a good splash of olive oil; when it is a little bit hot, put in pieces of diced salted bacon, a crushed onion and stir. Then add the pieces of beef, already strained. Cover the pot and stir for about twenty minutes. Put the marinade, which has had time to cool down, in the pot. Reduce while boiling. Then lower the heat, cover and leave to cook at least 5 hours or more, according to your desire, in several seances. The pot will be covered with a deep dish full of water, you can add some during the cooking but normally it is not necessary.
To serve with pastas or boiled potatoes.

easy and cheap recipe...
cut up as many veggies as you like...
i like lots of potatoes...
i normally use.... potatoes, carrots , celerey, and onions...

you can really tailor this stew to your preferences,,
anyways....
boil all your veggies in water... enough to cover them all...
about an hour...
then add some eckerich sausage the smoked liks....u shaped ones..
just slice them and throw them in the pot... i use 2 packages..
then just add salt.. peppper, and season to taste...
i add a lot og garlic salt and tony chacheres to mine...
but it is my home-made recipe and everone who has tried it has told me it is relly good... plus very cheap to make...
just try one time..
