That would depend on which denomination was represented by the government. Some would have us at war with every other nation on earth, while others would have our military for nothing but defense. Some would have us using our resources to feed and clothe and heal the poor, others would have us blaming their poverty on lack of faith in God and drop Bibles instead of either bread or bombs. There are many, many differnt ways that could play out. But the bottom line is simple: If you exclude God from anything, whatever you exclude Him from becomes evil.

So why is it that Thomas Jefferson became the guy who invented the very words "wall of separation between church and state?" became the guy who did almost all the artwork in writing the assertion of Independence not a founding father? Why did the Washington write, the 2d Congress raitfy, and John Adams signal a treaty (Treaty of Tripoli) that explicitly states that united statesa. isn't in besides in line with Christianity? were Washington, Adams, and countless different the first congresspeople not founding fathers? ------- there is one body of authorities--purely one--that is receives to make your innovations up what's and is not constitutional. it quite is the superb court, and Justice Black became very, very sparkling about the institution clause potential in Everson v. Board of educating (1947). examine his majority opinion, which became referenced and used in Engel v. Vitale (1962), Abington v. Schempp (1963), Torcaso v Watkins (1968), Lemon v. Kurtzman (1971), Lee v. Weismann (1992), Santa Fe college District v. Doe (2000), and a dozen others that i visit list off the best of my head.

If the church was not protected from the state, it too would become corrupt.

Separation of church and state is to protect religion, not the other way around.

Well at least you DID NOT say the the Seperation of Church and State IS in the Constituition. Good for you as IT IS NOT. I have many, many times stated this, and it can be checked out if anyone will take the time to READ it, but still there are those who will argue that IT IS. Good for you again.

Read about Nazi Germany. THAT is what happens when there is no separation of church and state.
Hitler, after all, was a devout christian.
