A new Digital one will cost about £20-00. It is best to use Digital coax as well. It can be an ordinary Digi roof aerial clamped onto roof joists in the loft. All TV will be digital soon.

If you are in a strong signal area, no problem. But if not get a booster box (usually powered by mains or batts). My bedroom TV is via a loft aerial and we get good pics on all 5 channels. But digital is too weak at the moment so wait until switch over, when digital signal will be stronger. SKY needs a direct view of the satellite so only an outside dish will do.Hope this helps.

Go for one designed for low signal strength areas to get over any loft screening fo the signal.

In our area digital TV reception s not possible via loft arials ( SY10 ) so you might want to check that first.
