Don't do this! Please don't do this! I'm not only a Pharmacy Student and a Pharmacy Assistant but I have personally had experience with taking low doses of Effexor-XR for anxiety. I had the worst side effects but aside from that even weening off the lowest dose with help and supervision by a doctor - it was a horrible experience (dizzy, migraines, fatigue, muscle aches, loss of concentration and vision). Although my case is a somewhat extreme one... You're on the much higher dose meaning you have the potential to have worse symptoms weening off such a drug. It's not worth it! Go off it slowly by gradually going down each dose with the help of a doctor. It is much easier for you! Please, please, take my advice!

Plese do not go cold turkey on this medication, casue it can cause you to have 3-4 times more depression then when you first started to take it, you really need to taper off of this medication, and so you really need to get intouch with the doctor that gave you this medication, cause you really need to taper off of it, or you are just going to get worse, and when it hits you it will be 3-4 times worse then when you were taking it. You really need to talk to the doctor that gave it too you.

Effexor is an anti-depressant and is non-addictive. The effects you are experiencing are probably to do with immediate withdrawal from the medication which is heavily non-advised on the medication packaging let alone doctors advice. If you take your medication properly you would not experience this. However I don't think the immediate side effects of withdrawing from an anti-depressant like this is life-threatening. If you are that concerned seek medical attention.

that is so bad I used to be on the same thing and you get so dizzy when you stop taking that, you really should talk to your doctor or who ever you see about this because you could get sick mentally or pass out. Please go and talk to someone before you take this thing any further it really is in your best interest.....
when I stopped taking the meds I did it gradually cutting the dose in half every couple of days by the advice of my dr. That worked well for me and now I no longer need any type of psych meds
good luck with everything and please be wise and call your doc

Going cold turkey off any addictive medication may have dire consequences. I would ask your doctor how to properly reduce your medication. If you want to go off the medication H/he would have to help you.
I wish you well.

I hope you are doing this under a doctor's supervision. You should not stop taking medication unless your doctor approves. Certain medications need to be stopped gradually so that you don't experience certain side effects from abruptly stopping them.
