Why risk it pal? What's the cost of a can of beetroot?

First I need to know if the tin has been opened and the beetroot left in it.If so discard.
If not then fine.
Nothing should ever be stored/left in an opened tin.
If your beetroot is pickled/in vinegar it will otherwise last indefinitely (for a good few months) because it is in effect being kept in a natural preservative.
Make sure that the beetroot is covered with its vinegar otherwise it will dry out.Top up with vinegar if necessary.
If it is 'fresh'unpickled beetroot then it's probably gone off by now so chuck
