If thats racist then call me sambo and cover my naked body in shoe polish. I felt that Jades treatment of Shilpa was bad, but thats why its called reality tv for gods sake!
Whats the point if you just say to people " hmm, yes go into the house for a reality tv show but do not be human and do stupid things that you will regret for the rest of your lives" ..... wouldnt be very exciting me thinks. anyways, funny joke , i like !
And its sooooooo not racist. When will people give this over sensitive political correct nonsense a rest?

The joke is a play in words, and not racist. That's like saying a joke based on the name "Ben Dover" is racist against Anglos. Sure, your joke is inspired by the racism furor in the media over BB, but that doesn't mean the joke is racist.
Your co-worker really needs to chill out. There's political correctness, and then there is plain unthinking stupidity in which someone regurgitates what they hear in the media without actually thinking about it.
More importantly, your co-worker could be described as racist by being so defensive about a joke concerning Indian surnames. Perhaps she is trying to cover up her own inherent prejudices?

No I would say not. Reason being your referring to two people who had an argument and that a relative of one party can be compared to a big knife. The joke is a pun on a person's name not their colour. I think your fat colleauge is the one with the problem that due to her size she's upset with life and goes on hate stirring trails because of her experiences. (opps did I say that.)

Nope, not racist at all, it just uses word play to make a last name into a joke.

i wouldn't say it's racist because it's the name that's used not anything to do with the colour of her skin........but i wouldn't start telling jokes about shilpa just yet following the recent headlines....

It's a play on words, machette. Not racist - but, to be honest, not that funny.
