...have more respect for individuality?

I have had two Babies, (cats) for many years, and they LET ME live with them. All I have to do is buy the groceries and pay the bills, and they are happy with me. I also give respect to whomever gives it to me. That is something that has to be EARNED, as it is NOT a privilege for any individual. I also obey my Cats, as that is what they want me to do, and they give me LOVE and RESPECT in return. I hope you can read between the lines here, and am putting the way I have to explain my answer, but it is more true than not. Have a Purrrfectly good day, Meow. Also remember this. Dogs come when they are called, and a Cat takes a message and gets back to you when they feel like it.

No, This is not true, I love cats and dogs and all animals not because I want to be obeyed or adored or have more respect for individuality but simply because I love animals and they have the right to be loved, respected, and treated the same as anybody else.

I never thought of it that way, but I think that is true. My mother loves dogs and she is definitely one who insists on being obeyed and adored, however her two dogs are spoiled rotten and don't obey but they sure do adore her.
I love cats not dogs and do have respect for individuality So I must say it is indeed true!
I wonder what is said about the person who loves both equally?

Not necessarily.

I love both equally.

Dogs and cats do have different qualities but that doesn't mean their owners necessarily share them.

Dog's are pack animals and need acceptance in a group with a dominant leader. They are higher maintenance needing to go out three times a day or more.

Cat's need love and affection but not necessarily like dog's. Less maintenance but can get into more trouble because they climb and aren't as easily trained.

Don't know. Some people like both. I do know that a lot of people who say they don't like cats always mention that cats "can't be trained" or "won't do tricks" or are "worthless" or "only like you because you feed them." It's like they think that cats aren't earning their keep unless they are show some respect or provide some service.
I am more of a cat person and I like the way they won't take any disrespect or abuse. I don't care if they won't guard the house or pull a sled. I think my cat is ok just the way she is.

I have a male cat about 9 yrs previous. He doesnt bit on the chin, yet does supply a 'softer' bite on the hand at the same time as getting interest. He is time-honored with of to not bite too difficult. He ordinarily grips which includes his teeth slightly----yet not in a way thats too painful. is smart to me on account that throughout the time of mating----the male bites/grips the scruff of the ladies neck. Cats an also bite to inform you they're drained/aggravated with in spite of interest/affection they were getting----purely relies upon on the body language.

Yes it is true because if you love something you will like the thing to obey.for example if you love your husband or wife you like him or her to obey you.

Yeah, you can't possibly have a cat and never stop to watch him and wonder..Gee, what would it be like to never take s%it from anyone. And some day you will try it yourself n never go back.

I have both and love them both... but here is a quote (paraphrased because I heard it years ago)

Dogs think, "They feed me, house me and pet me, take care of me... they must be gods." Cats think, "They feed me, house me, pet me, take care of me, *I* must be a god!"
