Having experienced both sides of the coin I'm not too sure to be honest !!

what that prince louis fella said is rubbish. it depends entirely upon where your at in your life. i have been in a long term relationship and single. they both peak and your usually happy as a pig in sh*t for a while, then you miss aspects of the other. i suppose when your older you dont want the single life as much and you settle a bit but again this re-inforces what i said earlier; depends what stage of life your at. for a hedonistic 22 year old a loving relationship is not better than singledom. for a lonley 40 year old single mom, you couldn't beat a loving relationship.

plus most women will take a loving relationship over singledom any day so (man i'm gonna get hated for this) take a bit more notice of the fella's comments. we're two different species after all. not being a sexist pig, just being honest. thats the way it is.

It is so lonely being single. All of my friends have long term boyfriends except me. I recently broke up with mine. So being the only singleton sucks when it come to going out. They all want to bring their men with, or at the end of the night they still get to go home to their men. I on the other hand go home alone. The only benifit I can see to being sinlge is having the bed all to myself. I have no one to share the bills with. no one to whatch tv with. no reason to go home at night. So I end up going out every night just to avoid going home. So technically it is more expensive for me to be alone. But then again Id rather be alone than be with some of the guys I have met (shudder)

i have been all of the above

married for almost 20 yrs
alone during the divorce for 8 yrs
and now found my mr right for many many yrs

i have to say being in a GOOD relationship is the best
you always have someone to talk to
you always have a shoulder to cry on
you always have someone to support you and root you on
you always have someone there to snuggle and cuddle with ( the thing i missed the most being single)
you also have to reverse this too
you have someone to root for
you have someone that can talk to you
you have someone to cry on your shoulder

as i read some of the answers in a good relationship you dont tell the other person they cant do this or that we have the freedom it is called trust

Being single is great - you get to do what you want when you want and no-one tells you to pick up your socks or do the dishes, but being in a relationship is more rewarding in the long run.

No, a loving relationship can't be beaten

If you're in a relationship to avoid being single, then yes, being single is better!

Personally i think that the only disadvantage of being in a relationship is that of being hurt by the one you love....

Being single helps you become better at masturbating. Being in a relationship helps you become better at helping someone else masturbate. So really its all comes down to masturbating and masturbation. Oh, and being single is cheaper because you dont have to buy loads of stuff you dont need and you end up with more free time. Did i mention mas

Hmmmm..

As a single person,

You don't have to return anyone's phone call.

You don't have to deal with relationship drama.

You don't have to deal with catering your schedule to someone else's.

You don't have to make too many compromises.

You are only accountable to yourself and who knows you better than yourself.

You don't have to buy anyone expensive gifts for Valentine's day or anniversaries.

You don't have to fix your boo's "hot messes".

And finally, you have MORE MONEY to spend on yourself.
