Roman Catholicism is #1 in the major branch of Christianity
Christianity began in the 1st century AD as a Jewish sect, and shares many religious texts with Judaism, specifically the Hebrew Bible, known to Christians as the Old Testament (see Judeo-Christian).
There is a diversity of doctrines and practices among groups calling themselves Christian. These groups are sometimes classified under denominations, though for theological reasons many groups reject this classification system.Christianity may be broadly represented as being divided into three main groupings:
1) Roman Catholicism: The Roman Catholic Church, the largest single body, includes the Latin Rite and totals more than 1 billion baptized members.
2) Eastern Christianity: Eastern Orthodox Churches, Oriental Orthodox Churches, the 100,000 member Assyrian Church of the East, and others with a combined membership of more than 300 million baptized members.
3) Protestantism: Groups such as Anglicans, Lutherans, Reformed/Presbyterians, Congregational/United Church of Christ, Evangelical, Charismatic, Baptists, Methodists, Nazarenes, Anabaptists, Seventh-day Adventists and Pentecostals. The oldest of these separated from the Roman Catholic Church in the 16th century Protestant Reformation, followed in many cases by further divisions.
Estimates of the total number of
Protestants are very uncertain, partly because of the difficulty in determining which denominations should be placed in this category, but it seems to be unquestionable that Protestantism is the second major branch of Christianity (after Roman Catholicism) in number of followers.

No the catholics did not cannonize the bible. The books of the bible were decided upon LONG before the catholic church came into existence. The various "councils" in early church history just "ratified" what everybody already KNEW to be scripture. The catholic church came later after the Eastern & Western parts of the roman empire split. The first person to be called "pope" was Gregory the First around the 6th or 7th century. As for the mormons and jehovah witness' they are not considered christian because in their official doctrines they deny or redefine the very essiential things that MUST be believed to BE a christian according to the bible. i.e...Jesus is God-His Bodily ressurection-Salvation by grace through faith ALONE-etc, etc. There are real christians in every christian denomination, though they are getting fewer and fewer as more and more denominations & churches are dening and watering down these essiential teachings. But the bible said it would be like this. But Christ knows who are His. There will be many surprises at the judgement. Jesus said many will say "Lord, Lord,."..only to hear Jesus say, "Depart from me, I NEVER knew you". Jesus once said an interesting thing in Luke 6:46 that i'm sure will apply to MANY professing so called christians today: "Why do you call me Lord, but DO NOT DO what I say?" Oh, by the way, the bible says that "all who name the name of Christ WILL be persecuted and hated". Not hard to see who THAT group is today, is it?...theBerean

The LDS and JW do not believe, adhere to, or accept BASIC tenets of the Christian faith. Also, they do not believe the Bible is the sole authority. Even the most casual comparison of the faiths will show major (!!!!!!) problems. Rather like saying cricket and baseball are the same sport.
I have no issue with Catholics other then I find my denomination more fulfilling.

To answer your question, you have to know what a true Christian is.
A true Christian believes that Jesus is the divine/holy Son of God, the Christ, the Way to the Father.
A true Christian follows and believes in the Bible as the Word of God.
A true Christian believes that Jesus' Father is Jehovah and he is the true God (John 17:3, Psalms 83:18)
A true Christian preaches and excercises faith to Christ, and the Father (John 17:26, John 3:16)
True Christians have faith in Jesus and his Father(John 14)
True Christians make Our Father’s name known so that the love of Christ be with them & Jesus be with those who showed faith (John 17:26)
Their form of worship is clean and undefiled and their teachings have no pagan roots (James 1:27).
True Christians are no part of the world (John 15:19)
True Christians believe that their salvation is from the Father and from the Son (Rev 7:10)
True Christians do the will of the Father, Jehovah as Jesus commanded in Mat 7:21
True Christians magnify Jehovah's name (Mat 6:9)
True Christians’ warfare is not of the flesh (2 Cor 10:3,4)
True Christians believe that we have to be in subjection to the existing human governments because they act as ministers also for our own good (Romans 13)
True Christians have love among themselves so they don't kill each other during times of war and distress (John 13:35)
True Christians bear good fruits (Mat 7:17-20)
True Christians love God’s commandments and follow them (1 John 2)
True Christians preach about God’s kingdom.(Mat 28)
True Christians believe that there is only One God, not Three Persons (not a trinity which is not taught in the BIble) Deut 6:4
and many more…
Who among the existing religions show that? Jehovah's Witnesses fit those descriptions.

It is adherents of trinitarianism who seek to monopolize the term "Christian".
For decades, trinitarians have repeatedly pretended that Jehovah's Witnesses are not Christian. Trinitarians use an artificial, trinity-specific definition of the term "Christian" which excludes anyone who does not believe that Jesus is God Himself, rather than the Son of God. Interestingly, pagans in the first century pretended that Christ's followers were Atheists(!) because the Christians had a somewhat different idea from the pagans about the nature of God.
Jehovah's Witnesses teach that no salvation occurs without Christ, that accepting Christ's sacrifice is a requirement for true worship, that every prayer must acknowledge Christ, that Christ is the King of God's Kingdom, that Christ is the head of the Christian congregation, that Christ is immortal and above every creature, even that Christ was the 'master worker' in creating the universe! Both secular dictionaries and disinterested theologians acknowledge that Jehovah's Witnesses are a Christian religion.
The Trinitarian arguments are intended to insult and demean Jehovah's Witnesses, rather than to give a Scripturally accurate understanding of the term "Christian".
In fact, the bible most closely associates being "Christian" with preaching about Christ and Christ's teachings. Review all three times the bible uses the term "Christian" and note that the context connects the term with:
"declaring the good news"
'teaching quite a crowd'
'open eyes, turn from dark to light'
"uttering sayings of truth"
"persuade"
"keep on glorifying"
(Acts 11:20-26) [The early disciples of Jesus] began talking to the Greek-speaking people, declaring the good news of the Lord Jesus... and taught quite a crowd, and it was first in Antioch that the disciples were by divine providence called Christians.
(Acts 26:17-28) [Jesus said to Paul] I am sending you, to open their eyes, to turn them from darkness to light and from the authority of Satan to God... Paul said: “I am not going mad, Your Excellency Festus, but I am uttering sayings of truth and of soundness of mind. ...Do you, King Agrippa, believe the Prophets? I know you believe.” But Agrippa said to Paul: “In a short time you would persuade me to become a Christian.”
(1 Peter 4:14-16) If you are being reproached for the name of Christ, you are happy... But if he suffers as a Christian, let him not feel shame, but let him keep on glorifying God in this name
So why do anti-Witnesses try to hijack the term "Christian" and hide its Scriptural implications? Because anti-Witnesses recognize that it is the preaching work that makes it clear that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are by far the most prominent followers of Christ:
(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded

Well this is a good question! The way to spot the not is to develope a relationship with Christ and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is who gives us wisdom and understanding. In the case of the bible it is easy to understand. It does not take a rocket scientist to get to the meat of the word. Just studying and seeking the truth and you wil get it.
The way you spot the not in the christian faith is with the bible that is why God gave it to us. By going to the bible you can see that Jesus is the Son of God and not a angle as the JWs claim.
By Going to the bible you can see that the catholic church is not from God period, There fruit bears witness of who they are from.
By going to the bible you can prove the Mormons are the nuttiest cult on the planets. They thing they are going to be having sex on other planets and will be a God pair and such.
The christian faith is base on the truths contained in the bible and not the truths that church are teaching in these times. Most of the small churhes we see to day are well meaning peple with little understanding of the truth these people would not follow instruction so they started there own chruch. Most of the main stream churchs today are doing well in the kingdom work. But more people in the chruchs have lost sight of Christ and only believe what pleases there ears. They are in need of the mind of Christ which comes only as a result of studying the bible and fellowship with God and walking out the fatih.
In the case of many of the older chuches like the catholic chruch they have long since departed from the knowedge of God in any degree having trampled the gift of salvation underfoot and having case off all true knowedge of God.
So how do you come to know the true spirit and the truth word of God. it is by developing a relationship with God. Jesus said many shall come to me in that hour and i will say to them depart from me you workers of lawlessness for you knew me not. That is a very stern warning from all christian. Many will come to him and he will outright reject them, declaring them lawless, and declaring them to have fallen short of the knowing him. The actually word for knowing here from the greek means to know one as a wife. Odd thing is people today do not even know there own wives well. Christ is telling people to get into truth and a real relationship or else he will reject them outright.
Can a chruch save you? NO. Salvation comes by a act of execptence of the gift of salvation, By a change of the heart in reguards to sin. And by the hearing of the word of God. Can a catholic be saved, They preach a wrong Jesus there salvation would be wrong if they did get saved. So no they can't get saved.
Can a JW get saved there teach Jesus is the angle Michael. So again we see the wrong jesus beng preached and the salvaiton is wrong.
Can a mormon Get saved they preach sin as a lifestyle and promote the lust of the flesh and the fulfillment of the flesh. And once again they preach a wrong Jesus. There salvation is wrong.
NOT one of these cults teach about the new birth in the context that Christ taught it, nor as taught by the aposltes.
Salvaiton is a gift from all the people of the earth. Gods church is comprised off all people whom are born again into his kingdom. Thus when any church teaches aginst that they are a cult and apostate to the truth. Hope i have cleared that all up from you.

Are you telling me that you have _never_ seen a "product comparison" in a TV ad that _wasn't_ trying to make the competitor's product look bad?
Whether it's religion or laundry detergent, there is fierce competition for the number of consumers and their money. All advertisers will say anything to increase revenues.

fundamental Christians use the King James Version of the bible, the different books contained within the kjv are considered ,divinely inspired, and as a whole explain Gods relationship with man,the fall of man,Gods promise of redemption through a savior, provided to man through him.prophecy of how to recognize this savior, preparation of man through the law for the coming of the savior, the family tree of this savior, and finally the birth and life of this savior culminating in the Crucifixion (ultimate sacrifice of the perfect lamb for redemption of man.)burial and resurrection! He returns to heaven ,the Holy spirit descends and dwells in those who receive him and believe in Jesus.the history of the early church, and how prophecy was fulfilled concerning the gentiles being adopted into the family of God .letter to the new churches with encouragement and admonitions about behavior from the disciples and finally we end with prophecies of the end times, culminating with the return of Jesus and his Kingdom on earth and final judgement. It is this that fundamental christians base their beliefs on.that Christ is the rock on which we build.
the problem with the Catholic bible is that it contains every writing that could be found or was claimed to be important.most could not be verified and or were verified to have been written at the wrong time according to who was claimed to have written it,quite often it was mans doctrines that contridicted the doctrines set down by Jesus himself and those things written by the discples,by using right discernment these things were removed as being judged niether relavant or divinly inspired.that in fact waterd down the truths that Jesus taught and once again put mans soul in confusion and danger.
So that all said. to answer your first question---Fundamentalists weigh all fruits against the KJV of the bible.Jesus said "many there will be that say ,Lord Lord did we not--etc. many groups claiming to be christian are not true christians because they have forgotten their first love and cling to mans doctrines rather than to the true doctrines set down by God come to earth in the form of Jesus, they cling to a form of godliness in works without faith.
