What file are you wanting to kill?..I do not think windows has an uninstaller but you can formatt the hard disk and reinstall windows operating system if you have the install cd.
when you formatt you lose all data on the hard disk you are formatting generally so you could install another operating system if you do not like windows. nothing will happen to the PC ...it will simply not have an operating system on which you can install programs to make life easier..
isn't life so much easier with a personal computer with WINDOWS..haha

Windows is an operating system, so uninstalling it won't matter but you be able to access your files untill you install another operating system like linux, unix or a newer version of windows.
As soon as you uninstall windows you will have DOS which won't let you access the files.

It depends what version of windows you have. if you upgraded from WinME or Win98 with an XP upgrade CD..it will simply go back to the operating system you previously had.

Now, by uninstall you mean "format your hard drive", the worst case scenario is that you files will be gone and when you turn your computer on it will say "Missing Operating System".

Hope this helped!

You can not uninstall the Windows OS all together. From Windows Settings you can only remove or add some windows programs. Even you can delete the Windows Folders while you are logged in. You may boot through diff. media and can delete the OS Folders. In that case your computer will not boot.
