There are lot of unsung Heros who significantly contributed and changed India life.

There was a time when our teachers use to ask us write an essay about cow, horse, postman etc. Times have changed. We have blown the trumpet enough about Gandhi ji & Nehru. Indian Life and economical growth is very diverse - therefore to make fair assessment you have to look into its various aspects and discover who worked in those technical and non-technical innovative areas.

Some diverse examples may be Netaji Subhash Chander Bose,
Jhansi wali Rani, Chattarpati Shivaji Maratha, Shahid Bhagat Singh, Chander Shekhar Ajad, Homi Bhawa, Jamshedji Tata, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Mr. Kidwai, Dr. Radha Krishanan, Air Marsall Arjun Singh, Dr. Manmohan Singh, King Ashoka, Gautama Budha, Ravi Shankar, Muhammad Rafi, Mahrishi Mahesh Yogi, Sharh Khan, Amitabh Bachan, Raj Kapoor, Yash Chopra, Bismillah Khan, Dr. Zakir Hussain, Partap Singh Kairon, Jadish Chander Basu, Dr. C.V. Raman, Dr. Chandershekhar ( the hubbel Telescope Camera inventor), Dr. Khurana etc

The king/Ruler who accepted the bribe and let the outsiders get in to India. That's where Indians become slaves for about 400 years!. Till then, it was a rich country and u know how they started it all over again, when they eventually got Independence in 1947.( lead by Mr.Gandhi ji )
But Gandhi n others gave us (Indians) a new start, not a change. Its up to us, to make the most of it and do justice to Gandhi's and his team's efforts.
Thanks!

On a more critical review, it would be clear that it was not a MAN but woman - Mrs Gandhi who brought emergency just to save herself from the Allahabad court judgement disqualifying her election victory!... Yes. The first major and open violation of the spirit of our Constitution started then... Now it has become a routine...

If the courts will not allow indiscriminate reservations without regard to the basic principle of reservation in the constitution, just to help the ruling coteries to retain their vote banks, then they want to go for inclusion of the subject in the schedule that will keep it outside the purview of courts review!

If the local bodies are pulled up for allowing all sort of unauthorised shops in residential areas, the government wants to change the law itself to allow the irregularity (Since it would be to its advantage in collecting donations to its party from the business men) and so forth...

The fall of values started with a woman and the damages caused are legion... I just quoted two recent fall outs for an example... Any patriotic Indian should feel ashamed to be governed by these unprincipled groups of parties... But the average Indian life is still not corrupted as its ruling class have...

There is still hope and we look for the hero who would change our nation's destiny.. Sure he or she would come... Destiny had never let us down.. Jai Hind!

First one was Adishankara who lived in 7th or 8th Century A.D. and brought Advaitha philosophy. Despite all diversities India is together basing on his teachings.
The next one was Mahatma Gandhi who preached nonviolence to achieve independence for the country. The Gandhian philosophy is also well accepted.

Subsequently Martin Luther King in USA and Nelson Mandela of Africa fought for their principles getting inspired by Gandhian philosophy.
