Works based salvation what joke.
So you can be good enoof to gain salvation on your own. I guess that Jesus being born into the earth and walking sinless for 33 years dieing and being resurrected and now seated at the right hand of the Father for all time. And Jesus having entered High Priest and offering up his blood once for the sins of the whole world. I guess that all does not matter because you still have to earn your way into heaven by your good works. The same as before.
Salvation is a gift, you can't earn it period. Jesus earned it for you or you are going to hell.
This is how you know you are in a cult, They take the gift of God and treat it as a common thing. It is either finished at the cross or we all will go to hell.

This is utter nonsense. Heaven is not real estate that is the exclusive property of the Catholic church that has a "' no trespassing" sign outside it, or a theatre where they sell ticket for entry ! Many other religions lay stake to this claim and as far as I know God has never signed an exclusive right of access to Heaven with any of them. This is just self-agrandisement and self-righteousness nonsense.

Almost all religions believe they are the only 1 true, Scripturally accurate religion. Therefore, they have exclusive rights to Heaven. This is fairly common.

The only qualifications for heaven are set down by Jesus in John Chapter 3. read this. Also John 6. If you are truly believing and trusting Jesus, I promise you that is all you need.

Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
We see Peter here opening the doors of faith to others and we have the first group of people to be baptised and enter into the body of Christ. He did not instruct them to join any church or denomination. Heaven is for the children of God and not a particular church or sect.

My friend, she is most certainly wrong.
You need to do some research and work wisely and lovingly with her, but at some point you need to tell her that the Roman Catholic System is not of God. However, He sees the heart. But He does say, "Come OUT of her, my people". (Revelations).
The Lord lead you.

The answer you were given was 100% wrong.
Of course, fear is a refined art for the Vatican, the source of all great evil.
If you want to check out what the Vatican did in the 20th Century, this should put your mind to rest that it has absolutely no spiritual authority.

every one of the christian sects has the belief that they and they alone will go to heaven. They are all wrong because they have corrupted christianity so much that it no longer resemble the teachings of christ
