Yellow means sunshine and happy. Yellow is the first colour to disapear out of the landscape as you move further away from the viewer, so yellow is transparent and transient, just like happy.

The answer should not be "a coward". This is not an emotion. Fear is an emotion, but this is not necessarily yellow. Cowardice could be yellow, but then what colour is fear in the right place?

Golden hair in old paintings ie. The Birth of Venus by Botticelli symbolised beauty, the good or the Innocent or the beautiful were usually given golden/yellow hair
