Our family members are of the opinion that a couple shouldn't stay apart, but it's only for less than a year. My fiance was cool with my going initially but now i don't think so,he is saying we should wait till i get back, but i don't want to wait.

If you have been together for a significant amount of time and you are serious about marriage, the time apart could bring you closer...or not. Realize the reality of the situation.

Plan at least one visit where you can share the sites of your temporary home with your love.

And lastly save the planning till you return. If time's an issue ,upon your return, hire a professional planner so you can avoid the stress of it all and spend your time rediscovering each other.

Long distance relationships are really tough. It's possible that while you're abroad that one of you will meet someone else. It's that much more tempting when your SO isn't around. Maybe the thing to do is to see if your relationship survives this before raising the ante.

Get married when you come back, get married before and take him with you, or don't go. Marriage involves compromising and tying your life to another person's. If you are not prepared to make sacrifices that are in the best interest of your relationship (NOT yourself), then you aren't ready for marriage.

Wait until you get back. If he can't wait a year for you, how is he going to wait the rest of your life?

You better wait because nobody knows what transpires after you go abroad and stay one year.
