If you are old enough and fit you could kill two birds with one stone! Become a blood doner. You will be doing a kindness for your fellow man and will be given a card with your group on. It won't cost you anything and you get free tea and biscuits.

Internet kit - not a good idea, unless you are already a nurse and know how to take blood. Plus you never know how reliable the results will be.
Your doctor should have your blood group on his records, but if you have never had a blood test before then he won't.
A cheap (free!) way to find out your blood group is to give blood. They feed you up with biscuits and tea, sit you in a chair for half an hour, and they will tell you what your blood group is for free. Plus, you're helping to save someone's life. Go for it! It's not painful, and you would have to go through the same thing if you were getting blood taken anyway. :-)

20 pounds for a blood test, that seems like high way robbery. Sorry I didn't realise how much better the medical system in Australia was. If you can get the test from online, why not try it. Doesn't seem fair to have to shell out a lot of money for something that could help you if in an accident. I guess you could see if the local blood bank could help too?

Bud, when it comes to needles, blood and other bodily fluids, lets someone else do the poking.
What you can do is give blood. Become a blood donour.
When you give blood, you give a pint of blood. That blood is further analyzed for diseases and (Tada!!) your blood type. Than the service may send you a thank you card for saving 3 lives with your first donation and will tell you what type of blood you have.
Mine is O positive. I am universal donour for all positive people.
so make an appointment with the red cross or a blood donour service and ask them to send a letter of confirmation of what type of blood you have. Its a much safer bet and you are always tended by a cute nurse. :)
cheers

You could ask your doctor. If you have ever had a operation they would have done a group and save ( which would give them your blood group).
Ask your doctor because you have the right to know. Its some policy that the government has made. So you have the right to see all your doctors aand hospital notes.
hope that helps

I'm sure the doctor should have your blood group on his records. If not why not try blood donating. They find out your blood group. You'd be getting something out of it while helping to save the lives of others.

Yes, you could just guess your blood group, but it's not guaranteed to be correct (if you're british your most likely O+ or A+ (some 72% of the UK are one of these 2 - so I'd choose one of these)
