A small dent in my skin - about 3-4mm wide and about as deep as a sheet of paper - has appeared ony my face. It's just to the side of my nose imbetween my eyes. I have only recently noticed it, so it must only be within the last week or so that it has appeared.

It is not very deep at all, but it is noticeable. I do not get spots in this area, nor do i sunbathe/use sunbeds, so it is not an acne scar or skin cancer!!

My question is:

1. WHy has it appeared and what has caused it??

2. What can be done to level off the skin? I'm not being funny, but would a very light abrasive like extremely fine sand paper or a pummice stone help smooth off the skin and get rid of this dent/hole?

3. Or shall i leave it and will it eventually fill out??

Thanks!

Its not lack of water or dehydration - i have consistently been drinking at least 1.5 litres - probably more - for the past few weeks.

I have not had chicken pox within the last two weeks, so it is not a chicken pox scar!

I think you should go see a dermatologist.

Dont use a pumice stone as this might harm the the remainder of your face and leave you with a foul rash which might seem undesirable. Use some commencing place for the 2nd and in some weeks see if there is an progression interior the unique hollow because of the fact the exterior can heal itself too.

Leave well alone - the skin in your face is very sensitive and pummice, sandpaper etc. will cause more damage than that little indentation is worth. Anyway, scars are sexy!

Check with a dermatologist if it changes (grows, shrinks, changes colour).

I have something like what you're describing on the far side of my forehead. Have you ever had chicken pox? I've heard that you can have small indentation scars from that.
