Does anyone know how long after I have felt the kittens kicking that she is likely to give birth. She has not started lactating, but is nesting. I know the gestation period is about 60 days, but do not know when she conceived. Thanks. I'm just fed up of waiting!

If you don't know the conception date, you'll just have to guess. You'll know when it is near, because her behaviour will change, she'll want to make a nest, try and sneak off to somewhere secluded like an airing cupboard or something. Try making a nest for her now in a secluded spot, get her used to it, and there is a small chance she will use it to birth in. Otherwise its all guesswork.

Usually, you can feel them moving and kicking from 6-7 weeks onwards although at this time it requires some practice to be able
to feel it.

Mammary glands will enlarge 2 to 3 days before delivery. Sometimes, you may also see some mucusy discharge from her vulva at this point.

As she is already building her nest, she is probably in the pre-labor stage - watch out for pacing, restlessness, trembling and she might even throw up. This stage can take from couple of hours to 36 hours

Then the actual delivery begins: she'll be straining in some intervals and eventually give birth.

Good luck!
