To lose weight you mustnt starve yourself. Your body wont lose anything then because the metabolism slows down and eats away at your muscle. This will cause you to gain weight. You should be eating 4 to 5 meals a day. These meals prevent you from eating snacks.
Your gym workout either you arent giving all you got or your most likely overtraining yourself. Remember you want to give everything you got in all your exercises but also give yourself rest. Try to do a gym day then cardio.
Take Sunday off an maybe saturday if its to much you'll no when you make it through a week.Try to get atleast 8 hours sleep a night IMPORTANT!
Also there are to ways to workout you could drain out your carbs giving you no energy to go to the gym making it feel like a chore. The other way is leaving some carbs and focusing on strengthening your muscles making the more muscle the more fat you lose. If you do number 1 your most likely to lose weight quicker. However if you do 2 you'll do it at a slightly slower pace but your also gaining muscle and you wont put the weight you had back on which is what can happen when you get back into your old ways.

Its hard to give exact advice as even though you say you go to the gym twice a week you have given no details what exercise you do down there (ive seen loads of women down my gym that spend most of the time talking then exercising). You should speak to the fitness instructors down the gym as they can tell you what are the best exercises and where you are going wrong with that but i would go more than twice a week. As for the food... eat healthy and its common seance, if you take in more calories then you burn off then you wont loose weight.

Hi
I started a diet called 'The Liver Cleansing Diet', written by an Australian doctor called Sandra Cabot. I don't know where u are, but if ur not in Australia you might have to try ebay to get a copy of the book.
I started the diet as a detox program and amazingly I lost 4 kilos in the first two weeks withouth exercising. The program goes for 8 weeks, I'm now in week four and have lost another two kilos.
This diet has also helped lift my mood, so it may be helpful to you there too. I really recommend it to anyone who wants to lose weight, gain more energy, improve their skin's appearance and lift their mood.

Going to the gym lots wont necessarily help as if you do not do the correct sort of workout, you will build up muscle and replace the fat in your body. Seek advice from a trainer to ensure this is not happening.
And watch Gillian Mckeith, she may be annoying and on the telly too much but her opinions on food are pretty much spot on.
Another thing is this guy I knew lived off bacon sandwiches for years and is as thin as a rake. He didnt realise but he was basically doing the atkins diet without realising.
Try researching different methods of weight loss.

Don't do anything drastic, as if you do, you may get loose skin & stretch marks. If you drink alcohol then stop, as it makes people put on weight. Make sure when you do your exercise that you're in your fat burning zone (optimum heart rate for fat burning without being too much). Do some weights, this will build a very small amount of muscle but muscle uses up energy, making you slimmer, don't worry, it is very difficult to become like a bodybuilder, especially if you are dieting, lifting normal ability weights, & are female. Be positive, stress causes cortisol to be produced, which makes you hang on to fat. Don't starve yourself, this will put your metabolism into starvation/hang on mode, making you store/hold on to fat. Eat more protein, this alone will make you leaner.

Diets do not work. 99% of people gain the weight back. No one teaches the animal what to eat and what not to eat. He knows instinctively what to eat. Humans also have the same instinct. The way it works is just eat whatever tastes good and that will be healthy for you and non-fattening. That is why a baby tastes everything. So again whatever tastes good, is good for you. This is why you will spit out spoiled milk.
But wait!!! Man has the technology to create rat poison. It tastes like healthy food (good taste) but kills the rat. So man has done that to you. Note-- any food unaltered by man (uncooked) that tastes good, is good for you. So if you are stranded in the woods, that is how you know what to eat (cooking changes that). So man has created fake fruit. It tastes like fruit that exists in nature but it is terrrible for health, addictive and fattening called sweets.
So it is natural to like real sweets called fruit, like a baby does, but they have fooled you just like the rat. But they do not want to kill you. They want you to become obese so you will buy lots of their foods. This is called GOOD BUSINESS. Learn how to nourish your body thin, instead of starving your body fat. See site below.

you are actually doing it the proper way by going to the gym and eating properly, so keep that up and the weight will come off. Failing that speak to your doctor who in turn can give you advice. Dont be depressed remember your kids, they are who you are.
