The ones that are beautiful on the inside, and on the outside, and have a great sense of humour? I mean they must be single sometimes. Hows a girl to tell?

Simple: the great ones are the most desirable, so they are the ones that attract a mate quickly.
As to which ones are single the easiest way to find out is to ASK. If they truly are great guys, they will tell you the truth. I'm taken - 17 year anniversary yesterday! :)

because you are looking at other peoples relationships and comparing theirs to yours or ones you have had. You are seeing what someone else has and longing for it.
Trust me, I know that they look great when you see them with someone else but everyone has faults.
They all do things that annoy their girlfriends/wives, some of them may cheat, some of them may be total jerks behind closed doors.
I think that women set standards so impossibly high that no man could ever hope to achieve that level of greatness. I am not saying that you should lower your standards, but I am saying that you should be realistic.
Maybe the guy you buy your coffee from every morning is a great guy and you just don't know it! Quit looking so hard and your great guy will stumble into your life.

I hate these kinds of questions. Like there are so many good women and only a few good men. These "good women" are not as good as they think and these "bad guys" are often bad because they don't want to be with you or didn't hit it off with you. There are guys who are total jerks and women who are total b*tches. I bet everybody knows a woman they think men should avoid. If you want to find a good man, ask yourself these questions.
1. What is my definition of a good man? Money? Physical compatability? Personality?
2. Would this kind of guy want me? What kind of shape am I in? Can I be supportive of a man who makes less than me?
3. Have I been judging guys too harshly based on a "dream man"?
Give these other guys a shot. Oh, and before you beat me down, I am a good man with a good woman.

it's so unfair, they are always taken!!! i think that if you really want to know if they are single, you should become friends first, that way he will feel comfortable.
