it not that important what you want to avoid is wearing TIGHT jeans around where your tattoo is. but if you will just wear some jeans that aren't skin tight and if you wear a shirt under whatever shirt you are wearing and tuck it in so the denim doesn't rub it you should be fine. i am working on a full back tattoo and had part of my lower back done in december. i wore jeans pretty much the whole time. good luck!

I got a tattoo on my lowerback recently, I wore PJ pants when I went to get it done, but went back to wearing my jeans the very next day (for work purposes also) and I was fine. I hardly noticed any irritation, I just pulled my pants up a bit higher than usual to avoid the rubbing. Just be sure to follow the care instructions and you will be fine!
Hope this helps!

The thing to keep in mind is that anything that rubs up against it is REALLY bad and can really irritate it. Tattoos will scab up and when they do you do not want the scab to be picked off. You want it to fall off naturally. So wearing anything that is loose enough that it is not directly on the tattoo is advised.
Some people say that you can cover it with a bandage and than put your clothes on. This is also a bad idea. You want the skin to be able to breathe and heal.

only a week. if you keep it clean, and cover it in Bepanthen 2 or 3 times a day it should heal in a week. that includes the peeling skin. protect the scab and it should be gone in under 7 days, especially if it is only thin lines. if it hasnt healed in 2 weeks, you need to get professional advice. like a doctor.
wear loose and soft clothing, nothing that will scuff the initial scab.
good luck.

Hi Fragile, I had my lower back done. I wore jeans, but when he was done, he put a bandage over my tat. You do know your skin will bleed a little. If you wear uniform pants they shouldn't give you any problems. Have fun with your tat when you get it. I have 5 tats, and i love all of them. Welcome To The world Of Tattoos.. A Friend.

Loose clothing is great for a healing tattoo. You will probably have to get a touch-up but something like sweats are a preferred clothing to wear.

A new tattoo is basically a Skin abrasion. It shoud be treated as any other wound. Keep it clean and keep it covered are your bigest concerns. The main ointment i use is A&D. its for diaper rash but works great. keep a bandage on it and you'll be ok.
