If u live in a city environment,u need regular shampoo. In summer heat & humidity stimulate Ur scalp's oil glands, shampooing twice a day may be advisable.Clear,see-through shampoos tend to have less goo in them, clean away oil better, massaging the scalp between shampoos may squeeze a little bit of extra oil out, leaving the shampoo on the scalp for 5minutes each time. This won't harm the hair.Don't use any conditioner.
Freshen up with: Squeeze the juice of 2 lemons into quart of the best(may be distilled) water, this is a great rinse to help cut oiliness.
Also u can try ,a tsp of apple-cider vinegar in a pint of water and use as a finishing rinse.

You can use a dry shampoo to help eliminate any excess oil; simply apply it to your scalp and brush it out of your hair. Also, change your conditioner to one that's not wax-based; the wax tends to soften and contribute to oiliness (Pantene, Herbal Essences and Garnier Fructisse are all examples of wax-based conditioners). Either way, if your hair is naturally prone to oiliness these are only stopgap measures; you can't prevent the oil production.

My first reaction was to told you to wash it everyday. But that's not what you wanted, so I suggest you to buy anti dandruff shampoo. Although you may not have dandruff, the shampoo helps control the oil.
