Numeric keypads on keyboards go bottom left to top right, whereas telephone keypads go top left to bottom right. Wouldnt it make sense to make the numbers go in the same order?

why does it matter, do you get confused??

but to be honest, the only reason i would suggest, is that your hands are in a different position when your typing, than when your entering numbers in your phone whilst holding it, so it could be an ergonomic reason.

Telephone keypads were developed back when phones used pulse dialing - one pulse indicates the number 1, five pulses for 5 and 10 pulses for 0. As it takes ten pulses to signal the number 0, the key for the number 0 is put after 9.

The difference was effected by the telephone companies to increase the incidence of wrong numbers, thereby increasing revenue.
