Well I can tell you from my own experience. I'm 40 & I love life, unfortunately after starting smoking at 15 I now cannot make it through a night without waking up needing my inhaler at least twice to breathe. I have copd with my lungs irreversably damaged. My doctor has told me quit or die.But the sickest part of this whole thing is I still can't quit. It will take me 10 minutes in the morning to be able to breathe right without my heart pumping rapidly & then idiot stupid me lights up a cigarette

I am not sure the gruesome stuff will work on them - but its a good try. If they are over twelve and the sad thing is that kids by law are able to light up at any age but not buy them, then you could try to focus on the boy girl thing - smell, bad breath, wrecks your clothes etc..I have got friends to give up by telling them that it shows a low IQ as only some one low down the scale would put poison in his mouth. It is a very good thing that you are doing and my comments are not to down grade your efforts but to help

I personally dont know the sites but I would go to NIH which stands for national institute of health or a cancer institute- get pics of tongue cancer, throat cancer and lung cancer- and you might hit the jackpot and get a picture of a person dying of lung cancer--which means his body is completely filled with fluid- his legs are actually splitting open and oozing fluid as well as his arms and his chest and he most likely has bed sores the size of golf balls......horrible site, isn't it?

My son asked me to exhale thru' a piece of cotton wool. The image has stuck with me for years...the colour of the cotton wool was gruesome.

i smoked for years and no amount of pictures of diseccted lungs or tumors or crippled sperms could put me off (its an addiction not a choice after a while).
what stopped me was the look of dissapointement on my partners face when she cought me having a sly one when she thought i was quitting
It' was heart breaking...
