I wish I could tell you. However, based on experience, do not make a conscious effort to forget because it doesn't work. Try out new activities. Meet new people and do not let yourself have the time to think of that person. Sometimes, yes, you can give in. Maybe, on the initial part, allocate the most an hour for that person. During those times, cry if you must. Forgetting is difficult, but, it also signifies a new beginning. You are stronger than you can possibly imagine. Have faith.

Well the fastest way is to replace it with someone but THAT'S UNFAIR. for the both of you.Its hard to forget someone especially if you love them and more so if you parted with broken hearts. here's a few suggestions.
1. Stop all communications. (yup its hard but try having a journal and reward yourself every 7 days of not IM, SMS, email, calling him)
2. enroll in strip dancing or pole dancing class. (its good for boosting your confidence)
3. get a pet.
4. volunteer into some charitable organisations.
5. Travel!!
The thing is, busy yourself and meet other people although not as a love interest but as widening your horizons and connections.
Try reading its called break up because its already broken. or go to their website.

video games! when i broke up with my bf from 4 years i was broken. my cousin ( a guy) told me the way to do it is through some type of video gamming system. i bought a ps2 and play it when ever i think about him. i like to play all the grand theft auto games, scarface... any thing with killing! lol ! it helps you get your mind off of him. or u could try a different hobby if your not into staring at a tv for hours.

2. Think that you have been saved from his clutches
3. Discard all the remeberance ( things that he gave you etc)
4. Seek a better person and think about him all the time
