Assuming a GOD, are we all wrong?
are the Jews not correct? Or are we all wrong?
Where in the OT does it foretell Jesus?.........all of a sudden, this guy from Nazareth (JESUS) comes in and verbally insults people and claiming to be the son of god.......would anyone believe this today? Do you see how a lunatic like this would have been crucified? Many people were tortured and killed back then......Many people have claimed to be God........and left no proof and empty promises. Am I wrong in the assumption that the bible is basically ideas on how to get through life and not to be taken word for word literally? We have all kinds of religious freaks in this country! I am starting to get scared. Should I hide?

The bible is a collection of stories originating from myths of earlier civilizations, and cannot be taken seriously as it contains hundreds of errors of fact, as well as dozens of internal contradictions. Don't hide -- stick up for whatever you believe in. If you can justify your beliefs on logic and real evidence, all the better.

The only thing that can be pointed to without a doubt about who or what god is is that god is the starting point of all mass and energy. Anything other than this is nothing more than conjecture.

I am an athiest but I do know there are quite a few "Prophecies" regarding the coming of christ in the bible the biggest of which is the whole passover thing. The blood on the door frames was supposed to be a reference to the blood of christ being spilled etc.

I do understand what your saying though if somone came down claiming to be the new manifestation of christ the christians would go all out to crucify him again whether he was or not.

I am scared as well. I asked a question yesterday about whether this should be a christian nation and we should do away with seperation of church and state and was frightened by many of the answers.

If you can afford to hide do so.

There are many places in the OT that foretell the coming of Jesus. His birth , life and death were told about by many prophets in the old testament. If you ant a listing (ghost too) E-Mail me and I will send you some of the books of the old testament they can be found in.
Yes you are correct that there are many religious freaks and nuts, but there are many freaks and nuts in this country that are not religious too.
As for rhsaunders and his Dawkins father- the earliest recorded writings of a God were monotheistic (belief in one God)
and they just so happen to have been found in places like the ancient city of UR. Where Moses is to have lived. See the Museum at the University of Pennsylvania archeology Dept

God is not created by assuming anything to be God.
God is mentioned in the scriptures of the Jews, the teachings of which is centered around monotheism is not countered by Jesus Christ does. Jesus Christ himself as a servant of the same God of the Jews was preaching about the same God mentioned in the holy revealed scriptures. Jesus Christ only condemned the mal-practices of the ill-motivated persons.

Jesus Christ said that He is the son of God.
He never said that he himself was God.
Most of the old testament and the Torah do not differ with the monotheistic idea of the Jewish tradition of Judaism.

Jesus was crucified after misunderstanding with him, which is not over religious conflict between Jews and Christianity over the Messiah issue. After crucification, as per the order of Pilate a plaque was placed on the cross, with an inscription in Hebrew, Greek, and Latin: Jesus Nazarenus, Rex Iudaeorum, meaning “Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews.” Crucification of Jesus was not a religious issue, but a political issue.

i think you just need a big ::HUG::

the prophesy tells of everything that the messiah would do in his time on this earth. and in all ways Jesus did those things. for anyone to say that he did not fulfill the prophesy needs to look a little harder at what went on.

on top of that, Jesus preformed numerous miracles. things like giving the blind sight and even bringing someone back to life. but for there being so many people, not everyone could witness these miracles. and to the ones who did not see these things Jesus did, they did not understand how he could say he was God. and to these people Jesus need not prove anything to them. they should believe in faith, not in sight. that is the whole point.

but the people of this world are cruel and Jesus knew this from the beginning. this world would put him on a cross and he would die. but in this death he will give the hope of life to the ones who believed in him. blessed are those who believe.

friend, if there is any question you may have about my God i ask that you please come to me. i will be more than happy to help you out in all ways possible. and friend, if there is anything that is troubling you that you are in need of prayer for, please let me know so i can add you in my prayers. Jesus loves you and will always be waiting for you to take in his love he so willingly wants to give.

God bless

Jesus was a gentle Rebbe except on occasions when he saw violations of the Talmud and/or commandments. This never makes him more nor less than a gentile Rebbe.
That he was labelled an insurgent and curcified by an occupying nation, and, their puppet native government and theocracy made him neither more nor less.

I agree with you, I once asked a question very similar to this one. I didn't get any helpful answers, though. All people did was spew quotes from the Bible, which is not what I wanted, but I took the answers anyway.

Should you hide? No. Should you stand up and do something about it? Yes! Religion is like a cult. You are told you live this life as a test to see if you will get into heaven or not which is where you will then spend eternity! Wow. No thanks! We as humans need to abolish all religion as it leads to nothing but trouble.

The Bible or Word of God is the explaination of Father Gods plan for mankind and His moving man toward that final ending. It was not meant for man to die but to live forever with Father God in His Kingdom. Sin messed it up for man but Jesus Christ, God the Son made it possible for man to get back in to Father God's plan. Just as man chose to walk away from God, man can choose to go back. Reading Job, has made this clear for me. Try it.

Old age dumb tribal scientific writers created the thing called religion. Still there are cult leaders who want to run this as a business. Also there are dumb traditional spoon fed followers.
