It all really depends on what you want. I am a pastrychef and do wedding cakes and i charge more for a mud cake or fruit cake which are the 2 popular choices, plus they are heavier cakes and cost more to make. With decorations it depends if you want hand made icing flowers or silk on your cake and what type of icing. A wedding cake is not something that can be done in 5 minutes, a lot of time goes into a wedding cake and that is what is costing you. The most expensive cake I have done was $1600. But I have heard others into $3000. It all really depends

OH MY GOD I PAID LIKE 300 BUCKS FOR MINE AND IT WAS SO GORGEOUS I LOOKED IN BOOKS MAGAZINES AND INCORPORATED MY IDEAS WITH OTHER IDEAS GAVE IT TO THE BAKER AND I GOT A MILLION DOLLARS WORTH OF COMPLIMENTS ON MY CAKE.
