My aunt is a military widow, her husband served in the navy for 21 years and after he retired he was a reservists. He died in 2000, from a brain tumor which was military related. She has one child who is ADHD and is now 21. She only receives 1067.00 per month which she says is her widow benefit and lives paycheck to paycheck. She has not received ANY other benifts. Is she entiled to other benifits?? and if so is there a time limit she has to file by?? As in burial benefits, or the money the gov. issues upon death for a service member. She has never re-married if that makes a difference.

She may very well be. The son that is 21, it would depend on the severority of his ADHD but is mostly for minor children. As for burial, was he receiving disability from the VA? Is that the money she is receiving for the disability? He is entitled to a american flag, a grave marker. If the death was service connected, their would be an entitilement for the funeral and burial however, the claim can only be made up to two years after the veterans death.
She may be eligible for survivor benefits providing that is what she is already receiving. I suggest you contact a Veteran's Service Officer. If your uncle was a member of a veterans organization, they usually have someone there to assist your aunt. If not, you can locate one and find out what benefits that are available to spouses and dependents.
You can check the VA's Web site, their link is: ttp://www.va.gov/

Widows are suppose to get money every month and more money for each of her child under 18. She stop receiving benefits from the 21 year old, so she will only continue to receive the thousand dollars. I'm not quite sure how long she'll continue to receive the money. Widows who husbands die during military related causes get a total of $400,000. You can receive that in a lump sum or have it dispersed, which is what I think may have happened. Also If she was to ever get re-married the money she receives from the government will stop.

If that is a state allowance than the authorities is entitled to do what it needs if the couple knew what they were getting. in the journey that they did not like it they absolutely ought to have taken out inner most coverage. Now that reported this does look very weird and wonderful to me. when you're combating on your u . s . a . then absolutely one a lot less hassle is that if something takes position to you, your spouse and youngsters can cope with to pay for for a good existence. i'm not particular i ought to decide on yet another guy getting into my residing house for what should be a defined and defined via you as a dowry! Very weird and wonderful. i don't understand why it really is this style of massive deal to get married! the following in Britain it really is probably to flow any opposite direction as in if a females receives remarried then she will be ready to lose a number of her benefit with the coolest judgment being that the guy could have his personal income and to that end the relatives income ought to boost, to that end no decide on for all the ease. i imagine both structures are incorrect and no count number how the ladies makes a call to stay her existence after her husband is KIA she ought to receive the completed volume and that is that. it really is not as a lot as authorities to intervene into people's own lives like that. I trust you..

there lots of benifits, but most of those benifits expire after six months after death. you can still try but i wouldn't get my hopes up. the military does not give this information freely. they just keep it on the books for legal purposes. start with the veterans hospital. if you grease their wheels of buracracy you might find some answers. Good luck and God Bless.
