I love Pepsi. And when we don't have it in the house, I feel desperately thirsty. I don't need Pepsi in particular, just some type of soda. Like right now, we have water, milk, juice, and more, but I'm DIEING of thirst because there's no soda!! Do I just really like it or is it possible to be addicted?

Well I don't have to worry about the calories now because I very skinny. I'm not addicted to a sugar rush because I don't feel all energized after drinking it...I just love the taste. And I have gone and do go a while without drinking it. It's not like I think about it all day either. But when I get thirsty, I really REALLY want a soda and I'm still thirsty after drinking something else. I guess I could be addicted to the caffeine?

Yeah, you're definitely addicted to caffeine, which is very possible. That's why starbucks is a billion dollar company.

It is possible to be addicted to caffeine. Caffeine is a DRUG. Literally, I learned this in a class I took last year. It is the number 1 most addicting drug in the world. I myself and addicted to Pepsi right now, which has only happened since becoming pregnant, Mt. Dew was my drink of choice but it makes me sick now.
People do go through withdrawl if they cutoff caffeine from their diet. The biggest symptom is severe headaches, followed by restlessness.
If the addiction is severe you may lose sleep over it.

Yes I would say your addicted to caffeine. if you go to a soda that is caffeine free you may have headaches for a few days as you withdraw. There are many on the market. The one I believe with the most caffeine is Mountain Dew. Good Luck.

YES!
The caffeinne and the sugar combine to give us a lift, a boost of energy and when it wears off we want more, more, more. Think it isn't addictive? Try going for a whole week without one. See what happens. About the second day you will be going somewhere, and WHAM, you will decide it is okay to have just one. You will HAVE to stop and get one. Or you will be walking past a soda machine and it will feel like a big magnet is pulling you in.
BAD News. The carbonic acid in soda creates an acid level in your blood and cancer thrives in an acid environment...

Hello,
YES, it is possible! My husband is so badly a coke cola addicted.
He can't go 1 hour without.
And he is one of many that I personally know of. The stuff rots your teeth.\Can help making you a diabetic too.
Just cutting that out of your liquid intake will make you lose weight alone.
My sister would drink Pepsi so much, weight close to 300 lbs and front teeth badly decayed.
She was told by her doctor to lose weight are she would not see her 33 birthday!
She cut out all pop, within 7 mths had lost close to 90lbs.
And was not longer board line diabetic.
That was 16 years ago, hasn't touched pop since and weighs only 150lbs.
So yes I believe so it is addicting. And it is what is making you so thirsty in the first place!
Just read the label on how many calories are in that bottle of pop next time want to drink one.

Yes, it is possible. And soda is really not good for you. Strong correlation between soda consumption and obesity. It's hard on your teeth, and leeches minerals from your bones.
Try not to drink so much of it.
You can gradually switch over to other beverages, water being the best of all.
Try drinking something carbonated, but not as sugary to help switch over - like flavored club sodas, etc. You'll be much better off in the long run : )

I know THAT feeling you can be addicted to caffeine. See if there is any tea in the house it doesn't have the bubbles but it might quell your thrist. My friend is addicted to Diet Pepsi and went through withdrawal symptoms like headache&irritability, that sort of stuff when she gave it up for Lent. She had no idea it would be THAT bad!
