If a new version of a classic is introduced it can stir interest in the original and the owners of those originals will begin to think they CAN ask more for them.
Check around to learn if classic chargers have gone up noticably in value since Chrysler reintroduced the NEW charger and you will have something fairly current to estimate with.

what do you mean if they introduce the new challenger. they are releasing it in 2008. and to answer your second question. no it will not increase the value of the older ones.

I don't think you can use any recent appreciation of old Mustangs or Chargers or anything as a gauge. There are too many other factors to consider, and there's been rapid appreciation of all muscle cars, even those with no modern version coming out.
Basically, if it does, you'll never be able to prove it.

I sure hope not, a good 1970 challenger cost no almost 10x what it sold for in 1970.

I agree with them. It probably wont increase any value. In some cases it may hurt older car values.
