how serious is to say a single sentence as "I love you"? after using it so much without knowing?.

I'm sorry, I thought that "Love" was the very foundation of R&S...my mistake

The object of all spirituality is indeed LOVE. Sad that it has been so misunderstood. Love on this plane of existence is merely attachment ... not true love. The only true and pure love comes from God.

I get the idea that this question is a result of someone having told you the same thing without really knowing. and yes i have and i know it can devastate lives. And after repenting the only thing a person who is at fault can really do is to try to soften the fall of the victim of those careless or insincere words.

I believe it depends on how and who say it...But best for me if you really mean to say i love you it will show on your action...If that person i know, respect me with dignity,love me unconditionally, and care for me, a single sentence from him "I love You" is more than enough to know that he is serious..

It is my prayer for all the people would learn that love is an action verb and not meant to be used as passive pap.

Sometimes those three words get used so much that they lose all meaning. It becomes more of a ritual than an actual phrase with any heartfelt sentiment behind it.

i tell many of my friends that i love them. i tell my boyfriend, and my family.
anyone i dont love, i dont tell that to. i consider the term love a very strong word (up there with hate) and will not tell someone that i love them unless i actually do.

What does this have to do with R&S? If you don't love the person then don't say it. It's your choice.
