I'm a Muslim and....

Can I declare Jihad on Stupidity, Ignorance and Prejudice?


....much nicer than declaring Jihad on innocent people, grocery stores and monkeys.

To kill stupidity, I have to EDUCATE.

To kill ignorance, I have to show that I'm right, you're wrong.

To kill prejudice, I have to show a good example.

God, I said I wanted to kill the IDEA not the people carrying it.

Yeah, I'm gonna do the same to other Muslims too. Too much of them are....well, not very bright. I want people of my faith to be more literate and able to defend it properly. (and write proper sentences without any typos). Fix them and we look good. We look good and I'll destroy prejudice in a little while. At the same time using them I can educate the majority and destoroy stupidity. Finally with everyone clear on things there won't be any ignorance and I win. Then I'll rule the world.
Gee, this works, guess I'll go with this plan.

By virtue of its definition, you would be doing that if you keep answering queries about religion and try to be a force attempting to sustain tolerance across faiths (even on Y/A).
Jihad is "struggle against the self" in its basic form so it start with purifying the self, answering queries about religion, attempting to stop atrocities.
As for Jihad on innocent people; I say it again and again, terrorists have done a remarkable job of maligning the name of this "stuggle to learn" and (looking at images and footage of 9/11 etc) I do not blame the folks who detest us muslims for those terrorists, not all of them have the time to study Islam and hence their opinions would be based on their own losses.
Though for a learned Muslim, the concept of suicide bombing, muder etc as Jihad is just cruelty in the name of a concept that has nothing to do with it.... sad but true. No punishment would be severe enough for these people.
Anyway, answering questions right here on Y/A would be Jihad against the forces you mentioned.

Jihad means " To strive or make a struggle against" in arabic if u can understand that then u will know whetehr u can declare Jihad or not.

The Prophet Muhammed said the Greatest Jihad is jihad on oneself so that u continously strive against sins and wrong doing and contionuously strive and struggle to do good.

This is one of simplest concepts that most people cannot understand

the world or Americans think that al jihad is going killing innocent people and killing everybody in the world ..

stop a second and think which country of the world is going here and there killing children and old men under the name of freedom and fighting terrorism but its only aim is PETROL . so when America kills thousands of innocent people in Iraq , afghanistan {as an example } and comes5 or 6 iraqi people and kills some american people can you say that these are terroists or those who are killing thousands ......... by the way defending your country is jihad

We were given the names of nineteen terrorists who flew into the towers. lots of them were bogus, are nevertheless residing and their names seem to were pulled out of the Pentagon hat. The human beings and British had continuously meant to flow in to Iraq so as that became not the end results of 9/11, it basically gave them an excuse to wade acceptable in there. Saddam Hussein and Al Quaeda were enemies. The violence did not commence with 9/11. That turned right into a reaction to US and uk imperialist interference. there's a lot to study in this subject and that's not as simplified as curiously. you should ascertain up on it.

Killing the innocent is not jihad but it is murder and the person will pay for it equaly. The actual Jihad is wht you have mentioned along with the one when we resist after bieng attacked , but that fight is only with the invaders not with the innocents ....killing innocents is terrorism Not Jihad !

Jihad is not one of the five pillars of Islam. Jihad is added by extremists who believe in struggle and holy war. I am NOT suggesting you are this way--I am referring to certain leaders and religious authority.

You can declare Jihad (which means to struggle/strive) against your own stupidity, ignorance and prejudice..(ie. you can go and occumilate knowledge and be more open-minded).
