For instance, a serbian police officer saying to a croatian, with minimal provocation, that he will not take his word because he is a "filthy croat", making a three-finger salute, reporting on his radio that the person "definitely behaves like a croat" (along those words), and just generally expressing his contempt for croatian people, and getting into childish arguments. This person was reporting an assault that had happened outside the station, and it simply was not addressed. And there was absolutely no provocation on his part. This is in Australia here, New South Wales. Is making racial slurs allowable conduct for police officers?

Serbians should not insult CROATIANS LIKE THIS,
as this is mean, croats are excellent Police Officers,
and there are a lot of them all over the world, but
on the flipside these two groups do not like each
other that much, even though they used to live
so closely together and intermarried under the
old Yugoslavia, In Aussie, racial slurs are not allowed,
but hate speech, this was just an insult not really racist,
as for the 3 finger salute, you must not take an insult
as a racist comment, as it very rarely is............................

I guess their cultural war is spilling over to Australia now. Bosnia, Herzogovenia, Croatia, Yugoslavia--those areas have been embroiled in a social, religious, and ethnic war for hundreds of years. If peacekeeping troops pull out, the ethnic cleansing campaigns will continue. As for the police officer's slurs, in the US all is not perfect, but police officers, for the most part, would be penalized for that kind of conduct. Some times cases slip through the cracks because racism isn't a dead issue here--or anywhere else in the world. But, if I were a police chief, or had some authority over the officer, you would bet that he would be suspended or permanently terminated from his job.

They can use those words, but they will be in line for punishment if they do. Personally, I cannot stand racism and while I wish it would go away, it probably won't in this life. Either way, I am using America's law as a reference point, but I would assume Australia's law is similar.

It has been my personal experience that unless you have a video camera for proof, the police get by with whatever they want to get by with because in court, when it comes to your word vs. theirs, theirs is always taken. The next thing of note, is that when there is material evidence that does not get media attention, the issues are "handled internally."

as a lot as we prefer to confess that we are all equivalent, thoughts and stipulations practice in yet differently. obviously in united statesa. they'll be getting hate, because they are not blacks, so as that they sense no sympathy (the those who bashed the black women human beings, not each body) And it really is a white u . s .... obviously it is a diverse tale in Africa, quite South Africa, the position the white woman may likely be discriminated adversarial to, because back, that's the black's u . s .. no count the position you're, there'll continuously be discrimination.

No, but they do it and can get away with it, because they are in a position of authority.

Not to important politicians, nor judges, nor media, nor attorneys, nor people who have much influence, nor to people with wealth. Neither may we.
