Yes, it is perfectly normal.

I think people who deny that they have ever flirted with someone else while being in a relationship would be lying - so in saying that I guess you could call it normal. That, however doesn't make it right and flirting can be a dangerous game of Russian roulette.

Most people flirt to get validation and recognition from others that although they are taken, they are still desired and (even if you're perfectly happy in your current relationship, on a subconscious level) that you've got the option to be with other people because they find you attractive. This in turn promotes self esteem and self worth, which is definately a good thing, because you would take that positive mood and energy back to your relationship; but when does a little flirting become too much, or not appropriate?

I feel that talking about intimate subjects (e.g. how horny you are) engaging in any kind of negative talk about your partner and in the same breath saying how you're sure they'd (the person you're flirting with) would never treat you like that, arranging meetings with the person behind your partner's back, and of course, kissing and fornicating with someone outside the relationship is highly inappropriate.

In this day and age of mobile and internet (webcam and instant chat) technologies, flirting takes place at a whole new hazardous level. What if your bf/gf were to read the discussions?

Chances are, if you feel you need to hide something from your partner about what you've said or done to/with someone else, then it's probably the wrong thing to do.

If you have to flirt why don't you flirt with your 'commited relationship?' A committment means just that. Anyway, if your 'signifiicant other' doesn't mind and likes you to flirt, go for it. But if you only flirt when they are not around, that's being dishonest.

I think that flirting can be very disrespectful to the person that you are involved with. When you're in a committed relationship, then the desire to "flirt" should be checked.

Why do girls think that it's ok to flirt and cheat when they are in a "commited" relationship?? Girls have been giving guys the bad rep for too long.

I never flirted much when I was in a "happy" commmitted relationship...once things got rocky I found myself (or find myself) flirting a lot....so if u or anyone else is flirting I'd say you may need to find someone that makes you not feel teh ned to flirt.

If you're in a relationship, restrain yourself from flirting with other people. Flirting is how humans express physical interest. If you already have someone, you need not communicate such a message.

You should ask your partner how they feel about it. If they're OK with harmless flirting then it should be fine. Some people dont want their partner doing any kind of flirting no matter how innocent it is.

it's fine as long as it's really just flirting and both partners are okay with it.
It's your relationship it doesn't matter what I think if you both think it's not okay then it's not. If you disagree on this it's better not to flirt with other guys or girls, especially if your partner is around.
