One evening the pastor of the Almighty God Church decided to call his wife to discuss their plans for the evening, but the phone rang and rang, and no one ever answered. Later on, he did manage to reach her, but she said her phone never rang at the earlier time he said he tried to call her. Dismissing the event from his mind, he was startled the next day to receive a call from a stranger who asked why he had called the day before. Not recognizing the caller, he suddenly remembered trying to call his wife on the previous day and he apologized for dialing a wrong number. However, the caller said he was grateful for the call because it had kept him from committing suicide. He told the pastor that he had been ready to kill himself, but had asked God for a sign not to when his phone rang. He said that he had been stunned when he saw the caller I.D. read as "ALMIGHTY GOD", and that he had been too afraid to answer.

Unknown answer person, how do we know, in a philosophical sense, that ANYTHING is true?. I don't know whether it's true either, but it is a good story, whether true or not.

The reverse happened to me about 4 years ago. A lady would call my cell and in a low whisper, say "Hello Sweetie" or "How are you Sweetie" I did not have a "Sweetie" I told her she had the wrong Number. She was one digit off form the Man she wanted to contact. She had a phone with the digits on one key pad. You pushed up for one number, and down for the other. She was pushing up instead of down. This went on several times per night for several weeks. She finally got it right.

If your caller I.D. read "ALMIGHTY GOD", would you answer the call? Want to know about the man who didn't ?

I would answer the phone and say: I am in the bathroom right now reading the bible......but if you wouldn't mind, could I call you back after the creation? The man who didnt went flush!

Nice story, but it sounds made up.

Truthorfiction.com investigated this "circulating email" which reports the exact same story using "Almighty God Tabernacle" and reported:

The Truth: If anybody knows of the "Almighty God Tabernacle," let us know. We've not been able to find a place by that name.

Neat story. I copied & pasted to send to my friends. Hope ya don't mind. I don't have caller ID. If I did, I don't really know if I would answer the phone. I would like to say yes, that I would, but I might be so scared that I couldn't.

I hate to be cruel but you know that story was just made up. It's another cute fairy tale. If he was afraid to answer the phone why wasn't he afraid to call back the next day. Cute but just a fairy tale like the rest of your religion.

You just heard this on " Coast-to Coast" with George Nori on the radio. I would not answer my phone if that showed up;I'd listen to the answering machine and then decide.

thats a hilarious story yes i would answer it .. god doesn't use the phone to communicate .His words are all around us everyday you wake and your heart is beating and the sky is blue or rainy or you feel the breeze on your face or the sun shines or the grass is green it all speaks God's words.. phone .thats ridiculous but i have to admit humorous.

That's a very nice story! But, if that happened to me, I would think that it was a phone solicitation and more than likely would have not answered it. Not out of fear of answering it, but out of not wanting to be annoyed.

ok, coincidence, thats nice he didnt kill himself but the right answer would have been he should have been able to pull his own head out of his butt and decided that suicide was a dumb idea. And no, I wouldn't answer my phone because I only answer calls from people i know.
