I have a dark blue carpet, dark brown desk, dresser, and bed, and white doors and molding. I don't know what kind of wood the dresser, desk, and bed is, but it's a relatively dark brown. I was thinking of going for a light gray color for the walls, not to be boring, I just thought it would work well.

I'm not color expert but right now my walls are painted the same color as the carpet with black sponging (not my fault my parents did it...i feel like i'm in a cave)

I was leaning towards a beighish color at first but I went online to sherwin williams and Iike the light gray's the best, tell me your opinion.

You have to live in the room, so go with what you like. Before you buy the paint, get the color sample cards from the store and bring them home. Look at them in the bedroom. The colors will look different there, than they do in the store. This is because of the lighting differences.
Since the room has already been sponged in black you are going to want to prime the walls first, to help cover the black. Otherwise you may be putting on 4 coats of paint.
If you have a Home Depot in your area, I would recommend getting your paint there. The Behr paint they sell is about $10 less a gallon than Sherwin Williams, and it doesn't spatter all over the place when you roll it on. The last room I painted with Sherwin Williams paint had me and the floor covered in paint spatter.

I had blue carpet and my walls were huckleberry blue...that's light blue. I can imagine that working well for you. I had a walnut desk.
I liked it so much, when I moved, I painted the next bedroom the same color.

I think light gray, almost white, would be fine on your walls. It is a bedroom, the place you have a sleep, and walls should be calming and soothing.
Good luck and sweet dreams!
