Kilograms?! Holy crap....Oh, yeah, he's going to prison. Unless he's got a good lawyer that can find some legal technicality in the search and seizure of the evidence or the way he was arrested, tell him plea to a lesser sentence. That's the only way to make it as painless as possible.

Anything over 28 grams is considered posession for the purpose of trafficking.

Four pounds of pot seems a little excessive to be able to claim as personal use.

I would bet he's going to be somebody's bunk buddy for a while unless he can beat the rap.

Depends. If you live in the United Staes every state has a different quantity where the line is drawn between possession and intent to distribute. 1.8 kilos sounds like intent. so, yea.

Oops. 4lb`s of weed is not construed as for personal use. That said i know a fair few pilgrims who would cheerfully knock a hole out of it. Poor bastard has my sympathy.
