Way harder to get over someone you wanted but never slept with! It's not the mystery or anything else lame like that. Part of it is regret. But for me the big part was because I wanted that person sooo much, I never wanted to blow the chance for a real relationship with some cheap sex. It's been like 15 years and I'll still think about what might have been. The ones I did have sex with, I can't even remember most of their names.

The one that you wanted but never slept with, because it's just an imagination or a fantasy. we can choose what to imagine/ fantasize about.
However, it's harder to get over someone we slept with, because it's a memory! and people don't just forget things just like that. It remains.

For women, the answer would probably be easier to get over someone you haven't slept with................We're emotional beings! I can forget someone that I've wanted, but never slept with..........there was no real bond there!

OK, here is my opinion take it or leave it. Eventually you'll get over both, but personally its hard both ways but easier if you never slept with them.
you see when you sleep with some one, you both become one in a spiritual sense. Its like if you have two pieces of paper and glue them together and then tear them apart, you have bits of paper still glued there no matter how careful you are.
when you sleep with some one there is a special bond two people share and no matter how much you want to sleep with them it isn't worth it once the relationship ends.(no matter how good they are)... wouldn't you prefer to just wait as much as it may sux... I figure no man or woman is worth destroying yourself and your soul for a moment that doesn't last for very long.
My advice WAIT!!! you may all laugh and say that's stupid. but how much more special is it to know that you waited for the "right" person and can totally enjoy them alone when the times right!!!!

Its harder for me to get over someone I never slept with because as you stated, there's still that mystery that I would want to find out. I like to conquer and then move on. I hate not at least trying something.

It's easier to get over someone that you have slept with, because the ones that you haven't slept with will always seem more intriguing.

If you never had them then there isn't anything to get over. But sleeping with someone can cause an emotional link to that person which can be difficult to get over.
