I've managed to have 2 platonic relationships - i have two best guy friends - i think it's control and knowing whether to pursue something or not. Although i've also realized that great love relationships come from these kinda of relationships.

Love the wording of this question!! Snaps for you :D
I'm in two minds about this as I have a male friend who is "just a friend". I love him deeply and no doubt always will, though our relationship has changed over the years. Initially I think it was a "negation" of our fundamental urges, but over time it transcended into a relationship where we were more like siblings than friends, neither of us saw the other as a goal to be attained and the innate drive to copulate thus ceased to be.
I think that is a platonic friendship. With friends of opposite sexes, there will always be a degree of sexual tension and frustration - it's whether or not these urges are sated that defines a platonic friendship from a "f#&k - buddy" situation.

Of course they do. I've always had as many if not more male friends than female, only a few of which I've ever been attracted to. Platonic male/female relationships are actually quite common.

i think platonic relationship is a very good word to use when u like your friend very much but u r not exactly attracted to that person and he / she proposes u. good way to escape without hurting that person.
but i dont believe in platonic replationships. nowadays, people r keeping 4-5 relationships open just to see which one will work out and they call them platonic relationships till they make up their mind

Yes it does. All these things are actually related to your thinking.
In fact platonic relationship is the best, one can have and it should be cherished forever. I think girls with good determination can only maintain such relations. Guys sometimes go weak.

Platonic relationships exist. In the minds of women. In fact, they exist there very determinedly, in spite of so much evidence and experience. As a rich myth they are very real.

I dunno. That's kind of like asking if my ex really calls to find out if I'm still married.
