because we are an animal. like a cat who kills a mouse, like a squirrel who steals food, we are given the choice by nature. It's a natural law. Period.
Plus, good cant exist without evil

You are free to expose your innermost thoughts and free to make choices. You have free will and so does the next man. However God places restrictions on man for his own sake as evil is inherently self-destructive as well as destructive to others. Even a man bent on doing evil has a still small voice that makes him hesitate, even if only a moment. There is an inner warning (the inner "braces" ) that some may choose to ignore at their own peril. Think about it.

God gave us the right way to live. He gave us some commandments to follow. The commandments are for our good--not to kill, not to lie, not to steal, etc. Wouldn't life be nice if all these things were followed? Think of all the problems the world would be without..God told us what was best but left it up to us to listen, accept what He told us, or to do our own thing. Lets say the speed limit in a given area is 45 and you know it's 45. You know that if you drive around 45MPH things should be OK. You know if you decide to drive 90 instead of 45, you could suffer the consequences..speeding ticket, wreck, etc. You have free will to decide to obey the speed limit or not.obey it. God shows us the right way in all of life but leaves the decision up to us. If we didn't have free will we'd be about like a computer program and only able to do as the programmer desires. We'd have no free will. God gave us free will, now it's up to us to do our part.

We are free to do evil because of original sin. God created man and woman holy, or perfect in the beginning. But when Adam and Eve disobeyed God sin entered in the world. Since, therefore, we were created in the image of God we have the ability to reason and to use logic. A pure gift from our creator. So, we can freely choose to sin or not to. The latter is an impossibility without the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

If we didn't have free will,we'd be like robots.Unfortunately, some people use free will to do evil.I get upset about this alot.I read stories about children being taken, raped, tortured, killed. It's not fair that innocent good people have to suffer just so everyone can have free will.If God is all knowing He would know what someone is going to do,why can't he stop them before they do horrible things.Maybe a schiester lawyer would be able to get the bad guy off on a techicality.I don't know. It sucks.

God gave us a free will. We live on earth. Satan rules here on earth, and just like in the beginning, in the Garden of Eden, he does his best to influence people to do evil. However, there is coming a time, when Satan will be destroyed.

If you were not free to do evil, you would not be free at all.
However once you choose to do evil, you become the servant of the evil one. He will keep you on his leash until a stronger one sets you free.

The very existence of our minds is based on ignorance. This ignorance is centered on it's perception that things exist independently.
This leads to the illusion of the 'I' and also then to the grasping of objects.
This is what 'evil' really is.

We have freedom of choice. That's your God given choice.
Doing evil is being the devil's puppet. He didn't want us to have the freedom to choose. And cons us into believing that evil will make us feel good and we are supposed to be justified to do it (ie. "...they were asking for it!")
