and who are the best in the state of washington?

It would be really nice to find some portfolios of really good work so i can get some ideas. Im sick and tired of seeing the same untalented crap over and over again. I want to find something that blows me away. Anyone know of anybody or any sites? thanks

Chris Garver is a pretty talented guy, but very difficult to get in to see. All my tattoos are based off of sketches that he has done.

Check out his online portfolio (from his studio True Tattoo in Hollywood, NOT Miami Ink):

In Seattle there is a shop called Slave to the Needle with quite a few very good artists. This shop also hosts the area's annual tattoo convention and has won numerous awards.

There is no such thing as "the best tattoo artist in the world". So many artists have their own style and not everyone wants that style.

that's really hard to say who is the best but i know what you are talking about when you say you're tired of seeing the same crap. the problem is that people are really unaware of how good tattoos can be and most of the people out there are content with mediocre tattoos. especially when they find out how much good art is actually worth. here is a good artist i found in washington.
oh, and my two favorites are nikko hurtado http://www.tattoonow.com/tattoos/Nikko/tattoos_15438.html who does mostly photo realism and nick baxter http://www.nickbaxter.com/tattoos/

try tattoojack.deviantart.com to see a few portfolios, just search tattoos. then try inkednation.com lots of good artist on there. if all else fails search for tattoo shops or artists in your area through myspace.

As far as the United States my favorite would be Paul Booth, he is at the The last rites...in NYC. He is a talented person.

Not sure if I'd label her one of the best in the world but I ADORE Kat Von D. I think she's extremely talented.
