I have a green card but would like to become a US Citizen, what do I do? I also served in the US Army for 3 years - I did not fill out the paperwork there either....what's the easiest way for me to become a US Citizen, HELP! Living in the East Bay if that helps.

Well you messed up by not applying while you were active duty, but contact the INS and explain your situation. It would have been free, but now it's probably going to cost you. I assume you have a DD214, if not you should get one and explain to anyone concerned that you are in the process of obtaining citizenship. Your request seems to be urgent. So if you're in trouble, threats of deportation, etc., get an attorney.

As the first answer said, you need to contact Immigration. I would think you should not have a hard time, particularly since you served in the US Army.

I believe if your parents became citizens BEFORE you turned 18, then you are citizen (Just like by birth), with no need for naturalization ceremony and stuff.

just apply for citizenship.
