Are they believers, because they fear him.
Then why dont they call it fear of god instead of belief in god ?
Or do they think that fear and belief as same.?

For me both are completely different. I prefer to be atheist than to fear god or hell.

Because they really believe in the Bible. Unfortunately, the Bible isn't enough for me. We live and we die, so I prefer to just enjoy life and be a good person. And if I have to burn just because I didn't agree with what other people who have no idea about the real reason we got here then that just sucks. But I think Christianity is just another religion that is incorrect. How can you argue with people who let a supposedly divine power control their decisions?

Some people get a thrill out of making others afraid. Some even a thrill out of making themselves afraid. (I guess that is why horror movies are so popular.) Some of those people think that they had better fear God or else.

The only thing I really fear the most is breaking His loving heart. Personally, when I've broken a person's heart is when I feel like hell. The creator of the universe is real and loves us more than life itself. He can be your close personal friend too, and that's no metaphor. He doesn't want you to live (or die) in fear!

Its all about control and some of the control methods are questionable. Praying to Saints, being in fear of Satan and his ways. Fearinmg God but at the same time loving Him, souunds like a bad marriage arrangement to me!

I wonder how many rational religious thinkers can justify the reliquery. A collection of finger nails, old forskins, finger bones, and other shriveled organs being kept in that gold box on the altars of Catholic churches.

Of course they are all from Saints, people that are normal humans that have done the work of God Like destroyed civilizations, stolen wealth and riches for the Vatican etc.

The whole concept of a reliquery is sick! The vatican has a library of these bits and pieces that they farm out like a library to new churches. A particular church in Italy has by admission of the Priest the forskin of Jesus in the church reliquery.

My question to him was who decided to save it considering that it is done at birth and no one knew for sure that he was more than an illigitimate JEWISH child and was put to death by ROME!

How was it kept and tagged? Was it too stolen from the Jews? He refused to answer and said that for not believing i would go to hell and burn for eternity. This is the silly crap that these Christians believe.
Yet they are very quick to speak out against voodo and head shrinkers. Just sheer fear tactics and hypocrisy These same bone and body parts collectors burned women who they accused of being witches, are they any different? Is it any wonder the majority of the USA is actually aetheist. Marylyn O Hare was on the right track after all. They're all nuts

Christians do not frighten the non believers with hell. Not even it is written once in the Holy Bible.

If you check you will find the Koran frightens its non believers with hell and painful doom, not once or twice but so many times.

Our way is not frightening you but we say, whosoever was not found written in the book of life will be cast into the lake of fire.

This is the acceptable time, you can decide your future now.

All a Christian can do is tell you about hell , it is up to you to decide to be afraid of spending all eternity there after your time is up here on earth !! Jesus said in Matthew 12 : 32 .. " And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man , it shall be forgiven him : but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost , it shall not be forgiven him , neither in this world , neither in the world to come " .. Jesus also said in Matthew 12 : 36 - 37 .. " But I say unto you , That every idle word that men shall speak , they shall give account thereof in the day of judgement ; For by thy words thou shalt be justified , and by thy words thou shalt be condemned . You have heard the gospel message and you have chosen to ignore it ! Thats` your choice , but that doesn`t make hell go away for sinners after death ! God said hell is a real place so it doesn`t matter whether you believe it or not , God said it and thats` that ! May the Lord touch your heart with His Mercy !

Well there's a well documented program used by police called SCARED STRAIGHT in which they take 10 year olds into a PRISON and let them see, totally and completely, what happens to you if you don't behave in the world.

If you don't like the concept of hell, then get rid of prisons, after all they are only filled with "innocent" people -- at least they all claim to be innocent!

while i grew to become into Catholic, i grew to become into very lots frighten simply by fact i enjoyed my pals and that they did not have self assurance in Jesus and that throughout the time of no way stricken me simply by fact i could in no way raise my ideals and convince them to settle for Jesus. I concern which will make me lose pals. i'm now agnostic simply by fact once I examine the doctrine and that i did not believe the stuff they taught me. I felt lied to. And if this God is putting his foot in his mouth for asserting he's a loving God yet sends solid non believers to hell then it is not the God i presumed he grew to become into.

The choice in words comes from the expressions used in the bible itself. For instance, you'll find in the book of Proverbs that "the fear of god is the beginning of wisdom".

Fearing, in the biblical context, means "being cautious not to offend" god.

In respect of the fear of hell, that is an ongoing and ever-evolving threat that used to scare the living wits of believers. That was a perfect weapon to control the masses in feudal times.

The funny thing is that American indians did not believe in christianity, or eternal damnation when the Europeans arrived pushing christianity down their throats.

As the idea of going to hell was not frightening, the Spaniard clergy decided to either make them convert to christianity, or kill them: better dead than non-christian.

Things have not changed much at present. Christianity is used to control people with fear of damnation, and by offering a quick solution to their problems: Jesus and salvation (This is a very fundamental marketing formula: tell you what's wrong with your life, and offer an instant solution: just accept Jesus, blah, blah, blah, and all your problems will be gone, and everything will be forgiven).

I've got a question: If Christians do not belong to this world (which, arguably, belongs to Satan), why do they (Christians) try to impose their moral and religious values through our laws?

I mean, if you do not agree with abortion, euthanasia, stem cell research, blod transfussion, and all that type of thing, "Just Say No" (as Nancy Reagan used to say).... but for goodness' sake... don't impose your values on the rest of society!

As I tell my kids (who happen to be born again christians): "I will defend your right to worship whoever you want by legal means [I'm a lawyer], but I will resist any attempt to have your values and beliefs impossed upon my community!"

There is no God who is a judge and who condemns us. God is actually our own self inside of us. The attributes of this self are love and empathy. There is also a law of action and reaction which operates in our lives i.e our actions cause a future event to happen in our lives as per the intent of the action. The "hell" is only a collection of future events which we have created as per our present actions. Of course there may be different dimensions of existence, but the fact is that we are responsible for our own future and no-one else. Some people cannot say it like this and try to frighten others.

Christians aren't perfect, some will use fear tactics in order to convert non-believers. That's only one method. It's true, however, one must also realize that even God Himself doesn't delight in having to send anyone to hell. Hell was, in fact, created for the devil and his angels. God is Holy and He cannot be even in the presents of sin; so if our sin remains unforgiven we die in it and we're separated from Him. He's more willing to forgive you, though, then a mom is willing to run into a burning building to save her baby.
